Circle F Meats — Local services in Baxley

The store is upscale for that area with friendly folks behind the counter and at the register. We were there early morning during the week so it was not to busy . Being in a family run wholesale meat distribution business for 40 years these types of retail stores are far and few between here in Georgia. The meat case was ready for what ever the day bought forward the young fellows behind the counter were eager to serve they even offered to vacuum pack our purchase. In todays world that is real customer service. Tonight we will eat the local beef not the boxed beef also offered as Prime Choice and Select. After watching a show on public television at home here in Georgia we made the trip. I am always interested in Farm to Table products this one being beef. The back story to Mr. Folsom was why I ventured to Baxley with my wife family is everything. When you start at the bottom & work hard you achieve wonderful results.

I have been there numerous times and I have always enjoyed my visit except today. Yes, this place has a wide assortment of products but every time I have gone, their customer service has gotten worse and worse and today, probably sealed the deal for me and I highly doubt that I will be back. I was waiting to be served at the meat counter, keep in mind, there is no sign that says where the line starts. I stood there for 10 minutes and not one person spoke to me. They were busy, I will admit that, but I had four or five different employees walk by me and wait on someone else, someone who had come in after me, never acknowledging my presence. I moved down to the other end of the counter and finally a woman asked what I wanted and I told her. As I am making my way over to the sausage (which is what I wanted), another woman at the sausages asked her, could she get something and so instead of telling her to wait, she waited on her instead of me. I went in the store at 5 pm (they don't close until 7) to purchase the $300 package. I had been to Brunswick earlier that day to buy groceries at Sams club but didn't buy any meat because I try to support local. I went home (15 miles the opposite way) to unload groceries just to come back and buy the meat from here only to be treated like it was a problem. This would have been my 3rd time buying the most expensive package offered and each time I was allowed to substitute. This time I was told that they were just too busy.
