I live close by. So I decided to stop by this dollar store instead of driving farther to a big box retail store. To save time. But it looks like. I'm going to have to from now on.
Most things were more expensive than the grocery store. But I didn't mind paying slightly more for the convenience. So I walked around for maybe 30-45 minutes.Because I couldn't decide on what to buy. So I was A. comparing prices. Which by the way, I had a hard time getting mobile data. Because the building is made of metal. Which affects cell signals. The customer wifi is useless. So you can't visit sites such as Google. But only use their app/website I assume. Another inconvenience. When every grocery store these days has free wi-fi. That let you visit any sites.
As I finally decided what I wanted to buy. Making my way to the front of the store to check out. I hear an employee,I presume to be the store manager. Make an announcement on the store intercom: "Shoplifting is not permitted. Please return your items to the shelf and leave the store immediately. Or the police will be dispatched with your description" I immediately knew this was being direct towards me. They thought I was shoplifting due to the amount of time. I spent in the store deciding what to purchase.I felt so profiled and disgusted. This is not how you treat customers. I wanted to put the items back on the shelf and leave. The reason I didn't was to save time being so close to home. So I could have been a frequent shopper here, that they just lost. For the occasions,I quickly need odds and ends. This will be the first and last time. I shop at this store. The reviews about the rude...
Read moreI always stop at this Dollar Store about every couple of days to get snacks and drinks for lunch to last me for 2 days or so since I work right down the road at a nearby plant. I had a buggy full of stuff and I really needed to use the bathroom. So I ask the clerk for the key and she says it's out of order. I'm usually not that upset. But I had just seen another customer come out and turn in the key. So I know the clerk was just lying for some reason. Maybe she's just racist. We'll this isn't the only Dollar Store that I pass on the way home everyday. So I'm going to just give my business to another. If you don't want people using your restroom just put a sign on the front door saying no public restroom. It's stuff like this that causes customers to take there business somewhere else. I know I usually spend 40.00 to 60.00 dollars everytime I'd stop. Do the...
Read moreVery convenient and super helpful. A lot more everyday items than you would think they have, especially in terms of food.
During Hurricane Harvey when everything was closed and out of food, I went here and asked about their bread situation. I was told when the next delivery was going to be and everything.
The staff has always been helpful when we have called or had any questions in store about an item. Yes, some of them do look miserable, but... I mean, I don't really care... they're nice when talked to and they help when asked.
The place can get a bit messy and the aisles can get crowded, but, I feel like you shouldn't be doing all your shopping at Dollar General anyway.
This place is great to run in and grab...
