we have been bringing our three boxers to this vet for roughly 5 years now. not only are the vets themselves all very kind and caring people (we have seen all three at one time or another), all the vet techs (nurses?) are awesome. you can tell they all really love the animals and love what they do.
our older boxer had to have a mass / lump removed from his elbow recently. the vet we were working with lined out all the options and told us up front what to expect. after the procedure everything went well and our old man is still doing great.
unfortunately we had our little girl boxer recently put down at beaumont west. she came down with lymphoma. again, the vet we were working with gave us all the options and all the pricing of possible treatments. we decided to let nature takes its course. with the help of some steroid pills we were able to have three great months with our dog (pretty much exactly what the vet said we would get). when the lymphoma came back we made the hard decision we had to make. again, the vet and all the techs were absolutely wonderful and caring. they all made a point to console in such a hard time, and to top it all off we even got a card in the mail from them with all the staffs hand written condolences.
its a 30 minute drive from where we live to get to beaumont west, but we wont go anywhere else. the way the staff treat us and our pets is top notch. they are great people that care about...
Read moreSo far, I am very pleased with the quality of veterinary care, and I like Dr. Pope immensely. My only issue is the time management. Nearly every time, I have arranged in advance to bring my pets for drop off so the Dr. can work their care in at his convenience during the day. I pick up at the end of the day. With the exception of one time, I have had to wait a minimum of half an hour just to drop off during the drop off window of 7:30 am to 9:00 am. More than once I waited well past an hour (ended up missing my own doctor appointment on one occasion) and once I waited 45 minutes to just drop off. Each time, I have been told that I have to wait for a vet tech to check us in; meanwhile, there are 4 or 5 ladies standing around who could have easily walked my dog to a cage and called me later for any questions. While I understand wanting a tech to check animals in rather than a receptionist, the amount of time I have had to wait to drop off is unacceptable. It defeats the purpose of drop off. As a side note, my parents are veterinarians, and I grew up working in their clinic. Drop off was so easy. We just walked the pets back to a cage and called the owner later if there were any questions we needed answered. No one had to wait unnecessarily. I'm not trying to be unreasonable, but it seems that most of the time, you should be able to drop off your pet without waiting more than...
Read moreThe prices here are outrageous. They always charge a $49 exam fee. Shots are around $100-$120. Spays and neuters average at about $200+, X-rays start at $160. The vet care is average, the staff are usually rude and it takes forever to check in or pick up your animals.I used to bring my dogs here for a few years and the staff changed and it just went downhill. I dropped my dog off who has a lot of anxiety and not very socialized (born in the pandemic) to board for a weekend. I dropped off one of my pajamas with him because my scent keeps him calm. They were so grossed out that I brought my clothes for him to stay with and made a disgusted face. I was so worried about him the entire time I was gone. When I went to pick him up I was waiting for almost an hour, they have my card info on file and didn’t really need a thorough check out. They had an attitude the entire time. I don’t have the patience to deal with rude people when I’m paying so much for my animals care. So I just stopped going. I’ve been told by several people they also found a new vet for the same reasons. Dowlen west and north orange are way cheaper than this place and overall have...
