Workers huddle in a circle talking when we entered around 4:30 yesterday. It seems every time we come something in the recipe has changed or not offered any longer so disappointing. Not good for business over the years. I ordered the fish poboy it was strange that I had horrible mayo all over my sweet bun when the tarter sauce was the best it all made the Sweetness over power the what use to be a sweet savory dish. One star for the fish quality. My husband ordered the 4 meat gumbo super salty Im pretty sure that has something to do with the fact that Latino's are cooking the Cajun cuisine. At least they we're cleaning go figure. But the girls at the front seem to have it pretty dirty dust caked in the bathroom ceiling the whole restroom could use a deep clean gross. The dining area has dust caked on all the photos that hang all over the walls dust balls hanging really all over and to top it off I guess they had this rush between lunch and 4:30 there was no ice I went to get ice and there wasn't any she came up behind me and put a chair in front of the ice been I dang near fell over it I had no clue she had put that there while I had my back turned. Its so distasteful to stand around in a circle talking about other employees. You should clean all that nasty filth on the walls and Floors and chair legs instead of pointing fingers at people that are not there. Maybe the owner can find some way to hire better help stop charging the menu stop raising the price all the time and maybe white it out so people can't see how many times you had a increase. This place was amazing at first I recall meeting the owner explaining how he hates when places change there recipes and hire something more then cheap labor in the kitchen is the best way to put it. I'm done paying your high prices for not so good...
Read moreNever again & I'll tell anyone I know the same. I don't think I've ever given a 1 star review but when you order & never receive your food when you're the only people sitting down to have a meal in there.... then yeah 1 star. My Husband & I ordered boudin eggrolls, gumbo & seafood enchiladas. We got the eggrolls & gumbo quickly (the gumbo was meh at best consisting of 100% of premade jarred roux & was full of hard rubbery shrimp). We waited & waited for the enchiladas. My husband shared his gumbo with me while we watched at least 10+ to go orders walk out the door. Still no enchiladas. I asked my husband to go ahead & finish his meal & just get a refund for mine. He went to the counter & asked if my meal was ever even made. The girl says "oh it never came out to you?" Again, we were the only people sitting waiting for food at a table so you didn't care to look & see that I wasn't eating? I'm too freaking tired to even express how angry I am since they were so flippant about it. We should've been apologized too & offered a full refund but at least we received the refund for my meal. We hadn't been to this restaurant in many many years because we didn't care for the food & were wanting to give them another shot tonight. Nope! Now I'm waiting for my dinner at another...
Read moreI recently went to the Bayou Cafe for some gumbo, and was appalled at how a young lady, Rachel, was talking to one of her coworkers in front of customers. I waited quite a bit for my to go order (mind you I waited the time they told me it would be ready before I got there), and I went home only to find that one of the lids was open, which wasn't a big deal since none spilled, and that I was missing one of the gumbos I had ordered. I called back and they told me they told me to come back in. So I brought my friend with me, and I explained to her how rude I thought Rachel was being to her coworker. Once we were inside Rachel was still being rude and my friend was shocked. Nonetheless, I got my other Gumbo only to find that the lid (again) was not placed on it and Gumbo spilled all in the bag. I usually am one never to complain, but this isn't the first time I have recieved less than exceptional service. The food is great, the service definitely needs to...
