From the very first email I sent requesting information on Elope in Austin I immediately had a phone call, which Lorelei took time out of her Christmas week to Call me and go over EVERYTHING, was immediately sent emails going over every step. I continued to get phone calls, emails & texts up until an hour before our Wedding going over certain things and even about the weather. WOW is all I can still say. Rev. Ed & Rev. Lorelei was TRUELY A GOD SENT!! When I arrived at Chapel Dulcinea it was pouring rain (which Lorelei had already texted & told me) I was stressed & a little upset because of the weather. I entered the Bride room and was greeted By Rev. Ed & Rev. Lorelei and a BIG hug from Lorelei saying its ok its good luck for it to rain on your Wedding Day don't cry! She immediately took my worries and turned it back into the MAGICAL moment I was wanting! Read moreLess than two months before our wedding, we broke a deposit we already made with another officiant 10 minutes into meeting Lorelei. She is that enchanting of a person, one of those magical people that you feel lucky to know.
Our wedding was anything but conventional. It was a lesbian wedding. It was also mixed race (White, Indian, and Hispanic). Also, we were not religious, but several members of our family had differing faiths. It was a tall order so close to our date, and Lorelei went above and beyond to prepare us and make our ceremony the easiest part of our day to plan. And we were not at all specific in what we wanted when we first spoke. We wanted it to be respectful of religion but not claiming we are religious. We wanted it to acclimate our guests to likely the first gay wedding they'd ever been to (largely conservative families). We wanted it to be meaningful but not sappy. And Lorelei somehow knew exactly what we needed with those limited pieces of information.
The ceremony was stunning. It had a traditional, familiar framework, yet still incorporated Hindu tradition in a respectful way (I was so stressed about this). Lorelei has a ton of experience with Indian weddings, and made the exchange of our mangalsutra and four mangal fera so natural yet deeply spiritual. She is truly a gifted speaker, and even though we had been together for eight years before our marriage, something felt permanently and spiritually different that day after hearing her speak.
Guests kept coming to us at the reception to rave about how much they enjoyed Rev. Lorelei's ceremony, with tears in their eyes. Truly, we couldn't have had a better person officiate our wedding, and I will continue to...
Read moreKnowing that often the internet outshines the realty, picking a venue for an intimate ceremony that will be a part of the memory to symbolizes the rest of your lives together, is a tough process to say the least. We are honored to say, for us, Elope Austin lived up to its image and was exactly what we wanted it to be with a sprinkle of more. Jessica was helpful in communication up to the day, then at the venue Rev. Lorelei Starbuck really took the reins for two people who were clearly filled with excitement, love, and nerves to guide us through the day. Rev. Lorelei Starbuck’s words were so genuine, kind, yet powerful we both felt the intensity of the moment as well as all the years of love that brought us to this moment.
When purchasing a package deal there is some hesitation and uncertainty in the quality you will receive. Knowing that when you put wedding in front of anything the prices seem to jump 20% it can be hard to know if you were budget clever or foolish if things don’t turn out as you envisioned. I will tell you that everything and everyone down to the photographer Sherie was a gem. She worked very hard to ensure our comfort in the posing process as well as delivered a gallery of beautiful photos for us.
Thank you, Elope Austin, for your integrity as a company, Sherie for your professionalism and talented craftsmanship, and Rev. Lorelei Starbuck for the love and strength of your words to really elevate...
