This Marathon gas station in the middle of nowhere gets a star on the map. We drove the "backway" from Bradenton to Ft. Lauderdale. On the way back my son insisted that we pull over at this gas station with a sign for "hand dipped ice cream." The gas station bathrooms were exceptionally clean. The whole place inside of the store was unusually clean. We did not expect this. The ice cream counter featured very high quality hard packed ice cream in around 20 or so flavors. The Key Lime Pie, Moose Tracks, Carrot Cake, Twixie/Caramel flavors we tried were exceptional. (We once drove 80 miles each way across Florida to try out a new ice cream place). This joins Detwiler's (Sarasota/Bradenton), Love Boat (Ft. Meyers/Sanibel) and Cowboy (DeLand) and an unnamed Ice cream parlor near the Ft. Lauderdale Airport as the best in the State. What a surprise! 1 scoop waffle cone $5.99, two big scoops $6.99. Gas was about a dime more expensive than nearby...

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Racist cashier. Treated us very poorly. I honestly was gonna go off on her but I was too tired to do so since I drove hours to my destination and to be treated like that. Lady threw money at my family. She threw items we bought on the counter, I had to ask for a bag and she threw my items in the bag. Will never go back. I work in customer service and no matter what mood I’m in I treat my guests with respect but this female doesn’t know what respect is. Hope one day they realize what type of person she is...

Stopped here on the way back from Miami during hurricane Milton whilst returning home. Very nice and clean store. Well lit. Has tables so you can sit down and eat a meal. The staff was incredibly warm and inviting which is nice to see after a long trip across the state with no guarantee that your home is okay. They also had gas and full power with a nice big lot to get your vehicles in and out easily. Will stop here again when...
