Went here to watch my best friend try on dresses for the first time. From the moment we entered into this place the woman was outright RUDE and made all of us feel uncomfortable. She not only made ignorant comments to us but harassed the bride about “you didn’t wear a thong right? It’s in that long email I sent you” blah blah blah. (After mentioning said email about multiple other things as well) Quite frankly pretty uptight for a discounted dress store. We’re not shopping at Vera Wang. We had been there maybe 3 minutes at that point and no she didn’t wear a thong but she made my best friend feel extremely uncomfortable. She was not personable or friendly what so ever. Within 2 minutes of being there we all were looking at each other in absolute shock that someone could be so rude without even making small talk. Was not friendly even for a moment, acted like we were all burdening her etc. Made everyone extremely on edge and uncomfortable. I’m honestly sad for my friend because she was so excited for this appointment and her first time trying on dresses. Needless to say she will be buying from ANYONE else. It’s a shame you run a business the way you do. I viewed other reviews with the SAME EXACT issues and you attack them. I’m not afraid to be vocal and you can reply and try to act like you were perfect but its a sham, save your time. I think what it boils down to is your make a judgement based off of first initial glance and maybe your in the wrong industry. Because brides and the friends/family of the brides are from all different walks of life. I’ll make sure to spread the word to others as well and I know for a fact I will NEVER shop for a dress in the future from here.
Edit to add since the owner is clearly a defensive person instead of simply apologizing for the terrible experience she wants to get aggressive in her reply— we were whispering back and fourth to each other about ideas for the bride and our opinions on different dresses without influencing her own opinions on the dresses. The woman then says “it’s just a curtain I can hear you, might as well just say it nice and loud” indicating we supposedly were “making snarky comments” no snarky comments were made but I can guarantee you we were sick of the treatment, attitude and lack of kindness and professionalism. Only reason none of us, outspoken woman said anything back to the woman was to try to make our brides experience as decent as possible since the owner ruined it. Additionally, my friend did have on regular panties so the owner going into this reply with “poop particles” is just irrelevant to the entire review. I’d also like to add when asked about a dress that had stuck out a little on our brides back, she aggressively tugged on the dress and jerked her around which she stated later to us that it was uncomfortable and hurt because she was so rough. Shes so worried about her dresses being “untouched” yet when our bride was in the dresses she used her barefeet in old sandals to kick around the trains of the dresses constantly. So you can use your bare feet and dirty sandals to move the dresses around? Please make it make...
Read moreI visited Green Bay Dress For Less this morning. I had read the reviews, but decided I ultimately was looking for a wedding dress at a great price a she had one on the website I loved. I went in with a “find the dress” mindset.
She sends you very clear directions after setting an appointment for your one on one time with her. They aren’t unreasonable and honestly I appreciated them. If people would read and follow simple directions I’m sure the world would be a happier place. It’s not hard to read and follow a few simple policies. Policies in place to protect you, the dresses and her small business.
She promptly greeted me, measured me and was honest. Which I needed. The dress I went in really wanting was realistically 2 sizes too small. I immediately accepted that, and went to looking for items in my size which she pointed out where I was looking and left me and my friend to look. There was plenty of options in various styles and budgets. I was thrilled and picked 3 dresses. She mentioned she picked the one I had walked in loving and I thought that was super sweet. I really wanted to try it, even if it didn’t fit.
She was very patient with me. I am not a girlie girl. This is the first wedding dress I had tried on. She got me in the first. Let me and my friend chat about it. Gave me suggestions on how to adjust the straps. She wasn’t pushy or made me feel rushed at all. But that first one didn’t have the wow factor.
Then she suggested trying on the one I walked in loving and by some grace of god it fit perfectly. It was everything I wanted and more. My friends agreed.
She was more than willing to let me try on one final option, a simplier one. I knew before she zipped it that it wasn’t the one. I asked if we could please try the 2nd on again, wondering if this would be annoying (I have never done this), but she happily agreed. Showed us how it could be bustled. Gave me super sweet compliments.
And I said yes to the dress!
Bobbi was great. Reminded me a lot of myself. The boutique is adorable. The dresses are fantastic. The prices are a perk! I got a Casablanca $2000+ dress for less than $300! Like how is that even possible?! That’s insane. And I felt amazing. My appointment lasted 30 minutes and was an amazing experience.
I would recommend anyone looking to try here. Go in realistic, with a clear idea of what you want/don’t want and don’t be a bridezilla. Small businesses are hard enough to run without unnecessary drama. Be kind and you will receive...
Read moreI was on the hunt for the perfect yet affordable dress. I was able to get an appointment set for this lovely boutique and was promptly provided with detailed information about the appointment and what to expect.
I opted for a small group, just my mom and maid of honor. I really wanted honest feedback not just that every dress looks great. This is what I got at the first place I went along with a heavy push to purchase. That was NOT the case with Bobbi. She took the lead from us an got us to the correct area for my size. After making my initial picks we got to trying on.
The fitting room is huge. As a plus size person and someone who gets very warm trying on clothes back to back this was great. Bobbie was able to make quick work of getting me in and out of my choices. After liking a couple but not sure if I found the one, she helped us pick out a couple more and gave some feedback.
Ultimately, I came back to the second dress I tried on. She was so gracious and understanding as I asked to put it back on 3-4 times throughout the appointment. Once I had it on the last time she stepped away and gave us time to look, take pictures, critique.
When I had my appointment to pickup I was able to try the dress on again, get a few more pictures and I had decided I wanted to try a veil. She helped me with that as well.
This was not my first wedding dress shopping experience. Things to note for those whose it is: Appreciate that you are not being told every dress looks great on you, appreciate if nothing is said at all about it, appreciate honesty. This is your big day, you want to look great when you look back at those pictures, not just have been told you did.
Bobbie's approach is more of an "in the background" one. She knows this appointment is for you and those you chose to bring with you. If you want her to be more involved, speak up and help to set the expectations.
I absolutely LOVED my experience. I LOVED my dress. I LOVED that I paid less than $900 for my dress and veil. Bobbie was amazing and I 10/10 recommend checking...
