I wanted to take the time and thank Jaime @Lockaway Storage. When professionalism and customer care goes above and beyond your job duties it needs to be recognized, especially, and most importantly, when the job duties are not your companies. I rented a U-haul trailer on the 15th of July. Received my reservation #25967755 and order confirmed email. I was to pick up the trailer on 8/01 @ 10:00 am. I called to verify this yesterday on 7/31 and talked to Jaime. Jaime is actually a Lockaway storage facility employee, NOT a U-haul employee. U-haul leases vehicles and trailers at this company. I show up this morning and Jaime informs me that when she pulls up my reservation it has been moved to another U-haul leasing agency. I ask why U-haul would not notify me and she said that uhaul notated on my reservation that they had called and left a message. Not true. I ask where they have moved my reservation to and I will go there. I am informed that now the size trailer I need is not available in any of the surrounding U-haul leasing agencies. WTH?! I want to blast Jaime at this point but she really does not work for U-haul. U-haul is ultimately who is responsible. I ask her to give me U-hauls number. I call U-haul while I am at Lockaway. I get Yolandria (sp?) on the phone. She informs me that I do not have a reservation. Lie #1, thankfully I have screenshot the reservation and I inform her of it and give her the reservation #. She says, "oh, it's been canceled from Lockaway you need to talk to them” I tell Yolandria, ummm no, my reservation is with U-haul and NOT Lockaway. She says, "well U-haul didn't have any trailers available for that location so we had to move you and we called you and left a message" Lie #2, thankfully I can go on to my sprint account and screen shot all my phone activity since the day I made the reservation and of course they NEVER called. So I tell her to just give me the address of the location that I need to now go to in order to get the trailer. Yolandria replies that now there are no trailers available. Lie #3 if you canceled my reservation to move me to another location why did I now not have a trailer?! So you are telling me you moved it but did not procure a trailer. Wow. You just cannot not fix stupid. When I explain this to her, Yolandria has the audacity, or stupidity, to reply that this was the busiest weekend of the year for U-haul. When I reply that it’s not my problem since I have a reservation Yolandria then says that these people have all put their reservation in before me. Lie #4 I tell her if that was the case why would my reservation be for when Lockaway first opened. If I used her logic then U-haul would make me pick up my trailer at the end of the day so that everyone else that had a reservation months before me got theirs first. She repeated the same lies. Finally I told her that this conversation was going no were because whether anyone made a reservation before or after me I still had a confirmed reservation. She said she knew that. I told her I don't believe you do and that she needed to look up what a reservation means. I asked to speak to her manager or supervisor. She says, 'there is no manager or supervisor here". Lie #5 I said you are telling me that there is not anyone at your company right now that is some sort of administrator. She skirted the question and when I asked it 3 more times she said no, there was not anyone there. Jaime at this time has helped 2 customers and is answering the phones. When I hang up with U-haul she immediately starts trying to help. Again, U-haul has royally messed this up and she DOES NOT work for U-haul, though they had tried to throw her company under the bus. Anyway, I am in the process of moving from Colorado to central Texas and so needed temporary storage, as usual. I presently rent a unit from Extra Space Storage in Colorado so thought I should check this one out (it helped that it was less expensive but much nicer than any other options on Google and was less than 5 miles away, no BS). Surprisingly, it was just as fantastic as the one I have in Littleton, CO, and those were some VERY high standards.
Having seen 2 different locations, I can say without a doubt that ESS is not only the most affordable, cleanest, and most convenient storage company I have ever seen, but it also takes the time to staff the locations with only top-notch people. A special shout out is well-deserved to Sue in Belton, TX and the manager of the location on Southpark Way in Littleton, CO (sorry for forgetting his name!), because those two have made my life SOOOOO much easier while in the middle of a stressful situation, something for which I am forever grateful.
For the record, I have had A LOT of storage units over the years, and would honestly rather sit atop my excess stuff and set it on fire than have to go back to renting from anyone else. I know that sounds extreme, but it's as close to properly conveying my feelings about how much I love ESS and how much I hate the others without getting banned from reviewing on Google.

Read moreEdit: After pre-paying for 4 months to secure advertised internet price ONLY, I got notice that my monthly rent would be going up about 45%. I saw there were still “special online offers” and was told I’d have to first secure online for the same size storage unit, and move out of the current space when my term ended, and wouldn’t be able to capture the pricing for my current unit! I was pitched “fair market value” as if that was going to convince me to stay and pay 45% more. I told them if I have to vacate to move, I’d be fully vacating. I went with a nice local family storage company that had lower pricing, regardless of in person or online, and I didn’t have to pre-pay to secure FAIR pricing. This is not a reflection of the sweet girl inside, but the business model as a whole. If not for her, I’d only give 2 stars.
