The RV Resort is at above the town of Benson on the highway towards the Kartchner Caverns which are about 9 miles up the road. Check in staff were friendly and a bonus was the 2 complementary dinner tickets for that evening. They have a small dinner service most nights in the Red Barn building. Cost is $4/per..Our site had a great view looking out over the valley. The resort is clean and well maintained . Propane is available onsite. There is a good laundry room, a pool which is not heated, a spa that is heated, a dog run area and some outside terrace exercise equipment once the weather is warm enough. The club room is nice inside with games and books for clients to use. There is a whole separate section in thd resort for those folks who want to purchase or lease a park model home.|| The RV Resort was a great place to use as a base to explore the area as it is centrally located to a number of places. Over the 7 days we were there we visited Tombstone, Bisbee, Sierra Vista, Gammons Gulch, The Amerind Foundation Museum and Gallery near Dragoon and of course Kartchner Caverns. We tried to visit Fort Huacahuca Museum but as this is located on an active US military base we as non American citizens (Canadians) were turned away. It can be arranged but for non US residents it must be done weeks in advance.|| It was very windy up at the RV resort from time to time but this was offset by the great view over the valley. The resort is also quiet, away from any railroad or highway noise. Grocery shopping at Safeway or Walmart is just down the hill in town. Our only criticism would be about the abysmal wifi. It is beyond slow and when you can connect it is so erratic that it drops out, disconnects or takes minutes to send even a simple short email. Very frustrating and frankly unacceeptable in this day and age. Did raise it as a problem in the office but no solution. Have to say that in our 7 weeks travelling thru Washington, Oregon, California and Arizona this is the worst wifi service we have yet encountered.|| Aside from that we would stay here again if passing through this region. We would like to visit Kartchner Caverns to view the 2nd cave so likely will be back. NOTE: Kartchner Caverns are very, very popular and tours are small guided groups so make sure you phone days in advance to get reservations as you wont get in otherwise. We had to wait 3 days for...
Read moreBeautiful RV resort. Nice paved, level sites. Nice room on both sides for slides, front and back. We didnt need to unhook our 35 ft. Travel trailer. All pull thru sites. Utilities are in good to New condition. They were closed when we came and they had after hours check in. The only problem is we couldn't find the price for the night anywhere. Not on the check in sheet, the handouts, or the bulletin board. We decided to stay anyway because we had driven 700 miles that day. In the morning, the handyman knocked on our door and told us the price. He told us $65.13. That included everything. We noted that my husband is retired military and he said they would see the box checked and give us the discount before they charged our credit card. We were happy with that. A couple hours later we got a call from a young lady and she said the charge to our card would be $67.00. We asked about the discount and she said that's only for active duty. I told her the paper said active/retired. She said she couldn't give it to us. We were not happy and I told her I would add that to the review. It didn't seem to matter. Then we got another call from her and said she asked the higher ups and they gave us thr discount... $7 . I thanked her. I'm glad she went out of her way at her end, because her attitude before that made me think she could care less. All in all, a beautiful stay, and so much cooler than Tucson 108, and Phoenix 116 that night! It was...
Read moreCT RV Park by far is our favorite Winter RV Park. Large sites, clean, friendly staff, and just close enough to Tucson to enjoy big City perks, but far enough away to leave it behind. Unfortunately, a few of the park's perks have begun to slide a bit. Up until last year, the internet was great. This year the owner has apparently decided to farm the internet out to an independent provider resulting in terrible internet (almost unusable). You can pay $1.95 per day for a better connection but those who have say it's no better. There is weathered fitness equipment but all of it is unusable, unsafe, and should be discarded. They really need to invest in new fitness equipment and a fitness room. The laundry room washers and dryers are old and outdated. Some of the machines don't work. Unfortunately, we're not sure if we'll be returning next year. We love the place but being able to exercise daily is important to me and a good...
