Country Fresh Market & Hardware — Local services in Benton Township

Having lived in Benton now for a bit over a year, and have come to rely on Country Fresh Market & Hardware quite a bit. Given that most larger stores are a solid 20 minute drive, Country Fresh is a convenient and nicely stocked market that is akin to the "general store", offering a nice selection of groceries and practical hardware needs that I can rely on just about all the time. And it's a local small business that serves the community, which I always prefer over big box stores. The staff are always cordial and courteous, and gives the store a nice down home feel. Given the smaller size compared to larger box stores, their hours are not as long as others, but still convenient for my needs. Since they don't have the same buying power as bigger box stores, some prices on items might be a bit higher in comparison, but they offer local items from the surrounding farms which is truly fantastic.

Wonderful local grocery store, they carry some local goods too, the staff are always welcoming and friendly and if you’re there enough they remember your name! They help raise funds for things we need in our community like right now as of this review they are currently helping to raise funds for a new playground, when avian flu was causing an egg shortage they kept their prices as low as they could charging only what THEY paid for the eggs. Not to mention the bulletin board just outside the door. It may be a little pricey at times but this grocery store is one of a kind when it comes to being apart of...

Nice little country grocery store. They don't have a huge selection or the sales that you would get at bigger, national chains, but they do seem to have what I need. Had a little problem with the red potatoes that are rotten in the middle several times and a deceptively packaged roast with the good side up, but riddled with fat on the unseen side.
