Westovers Country Grill — Restaurant in Benton Township

The waitress that served us took forever to take our order. She actually took another tables order before she took out and the other table came in 5-10 mins after we sat down. The burger itself was a little bland the flavor I got out of it was from the bacon and cheese. My wife got the brisket sandwich and she said it wasn’t all that great. My 2 year old daughter got was down playing with the fake flowers and stones at the one pot next to our table and the waitress complained and made a smart remark about not playing with the stones because she is the one that has to clean it up at the end of the night. My daughter was counting the stones one by one and putting them in her hand and then placing them back in the pot. There was no mess. This is our second time here and needless to say we won’t be back.

Response to her response: If the food was aweful in my opinion that doesn’t make it unwarranted. Your opinion can be it’s great but mine is that it’s terrible. I get why it’s your best sellers cause on paper it sounds good but once again in my wife and my own experience it was not. And yes the server walked out past us 2-3 times before taking our order and there were only 2 tables outside being used and very few inside. The only thing true about your response was that my son and I got up and picked up the very few pebbles that were next to the pot. Terrible service, subpar food and I do not recommend bringing...

First time here. Food was hot, portions were great, service was good, waitress was good at her job, very polite. Will be back again.

3/22/22- pics are of our dinner. Everything was hot and taste good except I had to send veggies back for reheating.wait staff was polite and patient.

4/19/22- had another great meal. Love the sweet potato fries. First time trying deserts everything was tasty. Again great service.

5/2/23- we eat here about once or twice a month but the last few times were very underwhelming. For a place I was very highly impressed with at first it has definitely changed. Today we were in and my mashed potatoes were cold and the boyfriend had undercooked chicken he refused to say anything. The country fried steak was luke warm. One thing I will give them is their desserts are delicious and staff is always pleasant. Also the stuffed pepper soup is good and chili is good everytime.

Update 10/21/23.. Crab stuffed Haddock was out of this world. Would love to see on the menu. Broccoli salad love it. as always the strawberry pretzel delight was delicious would love to see it in the deserts more often as we visit more often these days. Love the hand cut fries. There really isn’t a lot in the area, and these guys don’t have to try hard to be good in a desert of restaurants, but the food here is actually pretty good. Note that they don’t serve alcohol, but they are a byob and there are a few places in the area that sell singles, six packs, and wine.

I got a plain cheese burger with fries, asked for medium - the burger was spot on in terms of doneness. The bun was really good. We also got loaded fries with pulled pork - I wasn’t expecting much because of the description, but the pork was smoky and the whole thing tasted fantastic. Also purchased fried pickles - breading was a little thick, but it was still very good and the sauce was nice.

I’ve eaten at a lot of fantastic restaurants, and if this were closer to where I live, I might not rate it as highly (just too many places) - but the quality food, the friendliness of service, and the cost all deserve five stars here and it’s worth stopping in if you’re...
