SAVE MONEY ON LUMBER - PAY FOR YOUR GAS EXPENSE!! I was in Manchester at Home Depot last summer, pricing some wood trim for a big remodeling job in Berlin. The price seemed a little high, and I thought "Hey, they MAKE this stuff at White Mountain Lumber, where I'm headed - it's got to be cheaper!" I called them on my cell phone right from Home Depot, to make sure I had the right dimensions etc. I forget the exact amount, but it was about a SIXTH as much per running foot. The woman who answered the phone, Noella, was very pleasant and knowledgeable, as is all the help there. Then I thought, with all the ATV people heading north now because Berlin has become the most ATV- friendly city on the east coast, and the home base for the "Ride the Wilds" 1000 miles trail system, these people can do the same thing! They have all kinds of deals on wood structural beams and a full ACE hardware store. The finished wood building is drive thru - making it super fast and easy to get in and out. It's also the best place to have keys made - they always work! Best of all - you get to bring some of the great north woods back to your home! This is a very well run, very friendly and down to earth operation. I now see it as a potential goldmine for hikers, snowmobilers, fishing people, ATV'rs - anyone traveling north and doing carpentry elsewhere. As the ATV and snowmobile crowd are usually pulling trailers, bingo, ready to load on a little more! With Berlin allowing ATV's all over the city now, it should explode as a second home destination because of the awesome surroundings, and easy access to world class outdoor adventures. As of right now, housing prices are dirt cheap, but that will change, so move fast if you are considering it. Combined with the cooler climate there, and abundant natural resources, Berlin is very well positioned for the future. If you are in Berlin or nearby, they offer free delivery. A great company with...
