Pro: If looking for a great environment to learn, this is definitely the place to be. With my instructors, lol---i love because I am thinking of class yesterday; I really enjoy my classes. With my instructors, I am loving school again, feeling excited and truly enjoying class. From interactive environments, stimulating discussions and a strong push for guest speakers supporting what we are learning, everything feels relevant and deserving of my full attention, no matter how tired I feel. And believe me, I do feel tired by the end of my day.
Another pro: Great people, from the staff in administration, to my peers, to the instructions, it's an all-around friendly community. Everyone is helpful, from Ronnie and Asemina, to Mike in Admissions, to Annette and Amanda in the Registrar's office, to Diane and Melissa in the library... To the security guard, to my classmates!! Everyone is awesome.
Improvement needed: The only drawback is the cafeteria closes long before I end my day. My last class doesn't end until 7:30p at night. I have barely 30min between the end of the class (if we end on time) and the beginning of the next class, so no time to leave and get a real meal. Plus the cafeteria is closed before my second class of the day (which starts at 2pm) ends at 4:30pm. I eat lunch after my first class ends at 1230pm. So nothing for many hours. Further, I drive an hour each way to get there. By the time I get home, I'm starving, dead tired and struggling to stay awake. So not having the chance to refuel with a good meal between my last classes is detrimental. From what I hear from my other classmates, I am not the only one feeling this way.
Yesterday, I was told by the security guard to grab from a table in the student area. I felt very grateful...there was mainly only food that was highly processed and heavy salt. I grab miniature boxes of cereal and ran back to class.
Update: DO IN PERSON CLASSES!!! So much better than the online. Just heads up. If you must do...
