As a drummer I am very particular about my sound when it comes to recording original projects and am always leary of working with new engineers in the studio (currently 18 albums under my belt) because they don't always understand the the tone I'm looking for or want to add effects that I don't like. Matt at AceTone is also a drummer so he truly shake my language and didn't do anything to my sound without discussing it with me first and explaining why he might need to add things here and there. As a result of this, my band is about to embark on our 4th studio album with Ace Tone and I've also played on 2 other projects with different artists at his studio as well. I have heard finished projects from artists he is producing and some of them are truly grammy worthy in their production value. Ace Tone has proved to be not only what I needed in a studio, but more than I could have asked for. In the past year it has become a home and a family to me. The equipment is high end, the space is comfortable and conducive to so many setups, the prices make it clear they truly just want to help get good music out into the world and the people care far beyond their job titles require. I was a brand new artist when I walked into Ace Tone. I had never recorded any music before, and was immediately put at ease at our pre-production meeting. Matt clearly explained the process to me. He was amazing. He encouraged and supported me as a new artist, taking the time to make me feel comfortable throughout this journey. He also can be heard singing the harmonies on my album.
