I enjoyed fishing here for a long time with my father. We loved the atmosphere, people, and scenery. When we would go we would do a lap if we came in late to see if a suitable spot was open. There are signs that say stop at the office but itâs something we always did and never had issues with. Last time we went we went late and did our circle, when we came up to the other side of the shop the owner ran up to our truck and lost her mind. She yelled and scolded and kicked us out. Neither of us raised our voice, we apologized profusely and tried to defuse the situation. We tried to tell her we understand and that weâll respect the rule but she refused to hear us out. Itâs unsettling the way she treated us, especially my older father who spent years of time and money fishing the lake, we have always been respectful to her lake. I can understand bad days and frustration but the tantrum and intentional disrespect was uncalled for. I couldâve looked past it to spend time with my father here but his feelings are hurt and he doesnât want to go back. Thank you for ruining this...
Read moreWhen I first heard of Bobby getting a lake of his own I was so happy for him. He had been talking since we were all teenagers about one day He's have his own and run it right. I for one think whatBobby did with those lakes is off the chart. He raised the bar on paylakes. If you can't catch fish at Hubbard's South Lakes you got 2 choices....Change bait. Or I can let you use some of mine .đAnyway. If you want to go fishing....with a chance to win some money ....where the competition rivals any Bassmaster or other paylakes around, literally some of the best fishermen and women on the planet, then GET YOUR BUTT TO HUBBARDS SOUTH LAKES .THE REST WILL TAKE CARE OF ITSELF . See you soon Robert....And yes I have a little bit of bragging rights. I have a couple of them 4 ft tall World Champion trophies at my house .In not the best. Not the worst..but I can catch some really big fish. So can most everybody else at Hubbard's. So its survival of the best bait I guess. Top shelf lake...
Read moreNice little place. Carp everywhere but very few catfish to be found. I don't know when they restock the ponds but we went there for catfish and only caught three bluegill. We will most likely try again sometime in the near future. We tried nightcrawlers, Wiggler's, blood bait, chicken hearts, livers and even a cut up bluegill and still no luck. Carp were jumping like crazy though. The kid working in the store needs some customer service skills and knowledge of fishing for people who come in for their first time there and do not know what all the fish flavorings and grain are used for. We weren't told any rules or regulations upon telling him we were new and had never been there before, which was a bit upsetting. All in all it was fun. We will give it another try in the future. Hopefully, when catfish are...
