I bought my Premier Grand Majestic 223 16 years ago off the show room floor, and was awestruck with it's beauty. I still have it and it still looks great for it's age, but I cannot give Premier credit for that. The pontoon has fewer hours on it then most 5 year old pleasure craft, has been pampered after every use and season, and maintained excessively. In the first year, it immediately needed warranty work for a leaking weld on one of the logs. The dealer was quick to accept it for repair, unfortunately they had it for 3 weeks at the height of summer and the quality of weld was so embarrassing I refused to accept it. Another week later and the second attempt wasn't much better but I had enough of the game and it was functional at least. Some years pass and the nose cones began to collapse, which would cause frequent soaking of the occupants while in motion. Here, Premier made a fair offer to me that I still feel was good customer service. They offered to send me replacement cones and their installation would be my responsibility. They shipped, I installed, and the new ones quickly began to deform the same as the originals. Life goes on. As the pontoon has aged, common maintenance and occasional up-fitting has led me to discover several, lets say "deficiencies" in the manufacturing process. For example, the sheet metal of the curved portion of the fence at the bow, began to deform early in my ownership. Years later I would discover that missing fasteners and the resulting flexibility were the cause. And it was clear that the fasteners had never been installed. Another example is the shrinking waterproof electrical connectors used to wire the vessel, to say 50% of these connections were heated and shrunk is being generous. In summary, I understand that Premier is under new ownership and my review basically falls at the feet of the previous owners and thus def ears. However, brand loyalty being what it is, I once encouraged people to consider Premier when purchasing a new Pontoon or Tritoon. Unfortunately, despite the admiration and compliments that I still receive from people, I no longer recommend Premier. The negatives of the dealership and construction have out weighed the positives with little to no chance to ever even out...
Read moreWe took delivery of our 2022 Sunsation right before the July 4th holiday. We love the pontoon, we literally looked at every brand prior to building out our premier.
Our dealer, Premier Marine in Wayland Michigan has been great. Only reason for a 3 star is our pontoon was delivered with a cut seat as well as finish issues with the panels on the gates. We are almost 7 months waiting on warranty replacements! I get the pandemic has significantly slowed things down but 7 months? Rather than replace the incorrectly made brand new gates we are being told by our dealer the factory wants to field repaint them. I could see if a finish issue developed 9-10 years down the road but they were delivered this way. We are all human I get it, but the paint had air bubbles that popped leaving craters in the finish. It’s only on the gates and only on the white panels(2 color panels). Fix it the right way rather than trying to put lipstick on a pig, and try to pass it off as a Kobe Steak!
I don’t want to be that person, but I expect better...
Read moreWe bought a brand new Premier boat in 2014 from the Staples Mn dealer. The dealer we bought it from has been trying for 1 year to get a new counsel the counsel cracked after 2 years of use. We have been waiting 1 year for this counsel. The dealer told us a month ago that Premier's home office had to fix it. This came from Premier. The dealer had to bring the boat to Wyoming MN. Premier said they would fix it right away. As of today since it was dropped off in Wyoming it still is not repaired. (6 weeks later) About 2 years ago the tachometer also stopped working. It took the dealer a year to get this part also. Only did they get this part from Premier was when I wrote a bad review about Premier's home office. Next time I will buy a Bennington boat. I would advise anyone reading this to do the same. Customer service from this company is the worst. If I could rate them a zeroI would. Staples Sports had been calling there home office for weeks now about our boat and they do not return...
