The townhouse is truly gorgeous and well-appointed. 1 minute walk to nearest lift, which is then a 1 min ski down to the main chairs. The current lift is a Poma, which was daunting for my 9 year old (we are from Miami and ski only once a year, so day 1 is catch up). I did hear that they are upgrading it to a regular lift for next season. The ski back in is a double blue, which could also be challenging for new skiers, so be advised. The main lifts are about a 5 minute walk up hill from the townhouse. Beautiful walk and totally doable for dinner, etc. Called for some extra towels and soap and received prompt service. We made a killer fire in the fireplace, which lead to the fire alarm sounding for about 30 mins, the time it took us to open everything up and fan out the upstairs. That was a downer, as we didn’t get to cook our s’mores, or have fires ongoing after that. My husband followed the instructions to a T but they also note that fire starting there can be difficult. In that case, I would have loved an electric fire, to enjoy each night. The kids loved their own room, large closet, multiple beds. We were one family but you could easily do two families, as there are two masters, and the kids share the large bunk room. Best features: oversized mud room, heated bathroom floors, daily fox visits! Do not think a Suburban will fit in garage but Tahoe did. Do yourself a favor and book it!

Sunrise Vista Chalet’s corner location has amazing views of the surrounding mountains and down into the Big Sky valley! The hot tub feature was a fabulous bonus. The unit was clean and well stocked when we arrived, and we received periodic texts during our week reminding us they were available if we needed them. The only drawback we encountered (and this is not on Stay Montana) is that Saddle Ridge condos is serviced by the Mountain Circulator route of the free bus system in Big Sky. It takes people on the mountain down into Mountain Village which serves as Base Camp for the ski village. Unfortunately, it stops running at 5:25p each afternoon, so we couldn’t stay in Base Camp and eat dinner or shop after 5:25p. Luckily, I had preordered meals to be delivered to the condo the day we arrived from Orders Up Delivery out of Bozeman. The selections were all great (all 7 of us enjoyed them!), and they were a lifesaver since we didn’t have options to eat in town. It would have been better for us to have rented a car to have for the week so we had options at night. FYI - car services and local taxis charge approx $100 each way up and down the mountain. The following photos are all from the chalet’s balconies.

This review is for Stay Montana as well as the AirBnB unit (21 Sitting Bull - Hill Condo 1217 in Big Sky) we booked through them in March. The unit was not commensurate with the cost and we knew from the reviews that the unit was newly listed on AirBnB. We thought that perhaps the unit owners were also new to AirBnB so thought we would provide them some feedback directly, as opposed to posting a negative review. We contacted Stay Montana and requested they connect us with the owners. Stay Montana said they would do this but never followed up. In addition to the photos, there was a list of improvements that should be made to improve guest experiences at this high priced condo. Stay Montana did not seem concerned about our feedback but rather encouraged us to leave a good review for them. Upon entering the unit, the tablet had the previous guests name and information so we had to call them to get the wifi code and begin the check in process. We will not be booking AirBnB units from third party property managers in the future.

This is for rental Shoshone at 40 Big Sky Resort Road #1943. Location is great. We used the ski valet at the base of the hill so we didn't have to carry our skis back and forth. $26 pp for two nights. You can hit the apres for beers and watch the party and your room is just around the corner. The overall condition of the building is good, but not great compared to other ski resorts - but competitive for the Big Ski village area. The pool and hot tub arrangement is integrated, unique and a bit of a throwback. The kitchen was perfect. The bed that drops from the wall was excellent. The master bedroom was very large (and inefficient design wise). The walk-in shower is in the bathroom off the front door and not with the master bathroom which is another head scratcher. The WIFI was excellent. The bed was comfortable. There was a minor odor with the actual room, but this is expected with varied cooking - older buildings with poor ventilation. The staff was helpful and nice. The Shoshone is connected with Huntley. In fact, I learned from an employee who buys an annual spa pass to use the pool that most of the Huntley is filled with employees and only the top floor facing the hill is guests. Not sure if this is totally true, but believable. We paid $1300 for the last weekend of the season. Pricing looks to be 2-3x this for regular season. The value was there for what we paid and perhaps up to $2,000, but anything higher I would start looking at alternative arrangements including the Summit hotel and ski in / ski out homes in Moonlight Basin. Stay Montana has other properties in that area and I would absolutely consider. Finally, the parking was inconvenient. It's a surface lot and about a 10-min walk. I had a fox show up the first night I parked at 2:00 AM which put me on guard a bit. Is there a moose or elk around...

Do NOT Stay at Stay Montana!

After sending a very extensive list of issues during of my disappointing stay in February, I received a refusal to accommodate my partial refund request. The fact that Auburn excused away the poor condition of the home and the poor service as something I should tolerate was very upsetting.

They did send a very nice manager to rectify some of my issues, which were simply a matter of no pre-visit inspection. They do not know the meaning of quality control.

I did not take photo’s of every full chest of drawers and items left out in the closet, but I should have. Even their own staff member commented it was “weird” the way the owners personal items were left in the manner in which they were left.

We had a bathroom sink which did not work, a missing shelf in the main bedroom nightstand, a broken closet door in a bathroom, a broken humidifier and inadequate hangers. It was a very poorly managed pre-arrival process relative to quality control and the home was not cheap!!

The most egregious issue was a broken ceiling fan which had been REPORTED PRIOR TO OUR STAY. We asked to have the ceiling fan repaired so we could use the integrated light. When the maintenance staff person attempted to located the problem, the whole upstairs electrical system blew, leaving us with no power (thankfully we had heat) for 24 hours.

The sloppy extension cords, which were offered were a poor consolation. I assume Auburn was not banking on a full disclose of a previously reported electrical malfunction, hence the attempt to dismiss my issue. Bottom line.. as a Marriott Titanium Bonvoy member, this was a very disappointing experience. Thankfully, Marriott did side with me and added points to my Bonvoy account. I will never patronize...

My family had a wonderful stay at the Still Water Condo in Big Sky through Stay Montana. We booked directly and they had a number you can call if you needed anything and check in was so easy. We loved the spacious open condo with a beautiful view of pool of pine trees and mountains and the river flower right next to it so you can listen to the river when you go outside to enjoy coffee, breakfast or lunch. We loved the spacious den and the circling stairway, the spacious kitchen that had everything we needed. We loved the heaters in the bathroom and rooms and living room that you can control the temp. We enjoyed the huge fireplace. The beds are super comfortable and the couches. We appreciated having laundry right downstairs. Walking distance to the Big Sky activity village/Ski resort center and if you drive a few miles down there is a little town with groceries and shopping. Beautiful area. The weather was perfect and bright and the days are so long we enjoyed just sitting out watching our son play at the playground area after groceries. We drove the Yellowstone twice, to Bozemen and back. We were able to visit Lewis and Clark Caverns on our way back to Big Sky from a back to back trip. We just loved the balcony- its clean and you can sit out there for hours. There was no bugs during our stay because the sunshine weather was just so perfect. We did the Ouzel Falls hike and Beehive Basin hikes as well. We had to extend a day and it was so easy it literally took a few minutes of calling Stay Montana. There is no hot tubs/pool access or BBQ grills at this location fyi, but we were okay without it for this...
