My father was a patient in ICU. The nursing home where he was living at let me know he was there and that the ICU staff needed to speak with me. I called and the situation of my father's condition was explained and I was asked what was to be done if he coded. I told them that most likely it would be a DNR but that first I would need to discuss with my siblings. After discussing the situation with my siblings I called the ICU nurse back to give the go ahead with the DNR. I was told that I needed to give my DNR consent to a 2nd nurse so I spoke with a 2nd ICU nurse. I was told that my father's doctor wanted to also discuss the possibility of hospice care. They asked if the doctor could call me to discuss and I said yes. I never heard back from the hospital. The funeral home called me 5 days later. The relationship with our father had been almost non-existent since he left to go venture on his own after he and our mother divorced. However regardless of what the state of our relationship, the hospital had the duty to notify us of his death so that we could let them know what we wanted done with his body. However, they did not. I contacted the hospital patient advocate to ask why this had happened. It's been almost 6 weeks and I am still awaiting for their final findings. I have been in contact with the patient advocate but I am very dissatisfied with some of the reasons that have been discussed with me. I contacted medical records on 2/10/22 left them a voicemail to call me and why . To date I've had...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of being treated by the OB/GYN department at the clinic, and I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. Dr. Gray, in particular, was outstanding. From my first appointment, Dr. Gray took the time to thoroughly understand my concerns, explain my options, and ensure I was comfortable every step of the way. I truly felt like I was in expert hands.
I also want to highlight my recent surgery at SMMC. The entire surgical team was absolutely amazing. The care I received was top-notch from start to finish. I felt supported, informed, and reassured throughout the entire process. The surgical team not only identified my issue quickly but also made sure to explain every step of the procedure and recovery process. Their professionalism, compassion, and expertise were evident, and it made a huge difference in my overall experience. The only downfall I cannot fail to mention is the outdated equipment the hospital staff has to work with. I’m hoping and praying the new owners give the staff and doctors the tools and equipment they need to be top notch!
I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional care provided by Dr. Gray and the new surgical teams. Thanks to their attention to detail and commitment to my well-being, my diagnosis was handled with the utmost care, and my recovery is going smoothly. I recommend Dr Gray to anyone seeking care in the OB/GYN department. Dr Gray and her nurses truly go...
Read moreGiving one star because no stars in not an option. Went into the e.r having chest pains, can not breath through nose at all. A cough, and a fever. Let's start up front. The triage nurse was very rude and obviously upset that I had interrupted her ice cream break. 1st bad impression. 2nd they need some empathy sympathy training. The attitude of the nurses walking around is scary. Gave me a covid test and walked away from me Being thrown into a room by yourself and not communicating with you . Other than to ask if you have a last will and testament and what your preferred religion is. I got absolutely no kind of treatment and I will be disputing the bill when I get it. The Dr. Listened to me breath 4 times and then left. Diagnosed me with upper respitory infection. No meds nothing at all. Today my uvula is swollen the size of my throat and it's even harder to breathe. It seriously felt like they just wanted to push me out the door after the covid test came back negative. Is this the only thing the new staff knows how to treat? And is this protocol when dealing with a sick patient. When asking the nurse about over the countermeds. Was told just to ask the pharmacist. Got 0 help and left feeling worse not knowing what is...
