Roebuck Golf Course — Local services in Birmingham

This course is absolutely the worst course in the state, and I promise you I am not exaggerating in the slightest. Most of staff is rude, the fairways are equivalent to roughs, I’ve never played a course where my dead center fairway shots are unfindable because of the grass being so high, you are punished no matter how good of a shot you hit. Two of the holes had false greens that no one told us about yet we were still charged normal price, and they weren’t even green they were brown and dead. The greens that are there are eaten up with crab grass and dead spots making it quite impossible to read lines. The bunkers are compacted clay and dirt. Literally there isn’t a single good thing about this place. I would have given a negative star review if it were possible. Please don’t waste your time. I have no idea what these guys leaving good reviews are on about, maybe they’ve never actually played a halfway decent course. I will never in a million years play this course again. And I know it’s just a municipal course, I don’t care. Even for a muni, this place is completely atrocious. DO NOT SPEND...

My rating has nothing to do with the course itself. For the price it’s a decent course. But I’m giving this rating after multiple occasions of poor customer service experience. I play here a lot. And I finally had to say something publicly. There’s two older men that work the check in counter one white named Buddy, and one black who’s name I didn’t get. But those two have had nothing but rude remarks and disrespect towards me. I look young but I’m a grown 27 year old man and I don’t deserve to be talked to or treated that way. There’s one other older man who’s probly a little younger than the aforementioned two who I have never had a bad experience with, but I haven’t seen him enough to make up for the others poor treatment. I’ve spoken with other players while on the course who’ve had similar issues with the same guys. I had been considering a membership there for the price but I can’t pay that much and drive from alabaster to be treated like that. If you’re just looking for a quick fair priced round go for it, but don’t expect a good experience...

As a new “serious” golfer I have visited several golf courses domestically and fortunately internationally. Having said that, Roebuck Golf Course feels like home to me. As a proud Roebuck Golf Course member, I highly recommend this golf course! Beginners are treated with the same respect as avid golfers and everyone makes you feel special no matter your skill level. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people on the course and words can’t express how amazing the staff are. Everyone at Roebuck Golf Course consistently provides superior service at an affordable price! I appreciate and applaud both!

Tournaments and events are great offerings as well! The staff willingly collaborates with you to plan activities that effectively support all of your golfing needs.
