Who could possibly give this peak 2 stars? For that matter, who could give anything in the High Sierra 2 stars? North Palisade is a mountain climbers dream...just a great peak in a great location with great routes...and no truly easy route to the summit either. I soloed the "easiest" I think...a 4th class scare-fest (without a rope anyways...but a rope wouldn't make it entirely safe, frankly...) on the west side... bring real rock climbing shoes for that crux as well as the very top...and points between too, if i remember correctly. You will earn this peak and it will make you feel your oats..but the summit is incredible...one of the most fabulous spots on the 4th highest point in the state...unforgettable. 2 stars, my ass....6...
