I love this place. Bought my first home (all mine!) and finally get to do all of the things I've been wanting to do. Found great ideas and practical and affordable ways to make them happen here. Tons (pun intended) of selection. Different colors, shapes, textures. Everyone who works here is insanely nice, very friendly, very helpful. I was a little overwhelmed at first, here's what I've learned .... Everything is clearly labeled - no awkward back-and-forth about price here. If it's small like bags of mortar, there's a printed price list in the office by the drive-on scale. A pallet has around 2 tons on it. Most (large) rock is 250 to 350/ton. A ton covers roughly 100 sq ft. Gravel runs around 40/ton. Decorative crushed rock like 100/ton. If there is a white tag with a number on it, that is the weight. If you want a partial pallet, there is a "self serve" area where the price per lb is posted. Any vehicle can use the drive on scale. Big truck, suv, sports car, doesn't matter. Get an empty weight, fill up, get weighed again. Need gravel but drive a car? Bring 5 gallon buckets. They've seen it all. They are the most non-judgy people I've prob ever met. I've noticed that they're eager to help... everyone. Like they like their jobs or something. Idk, I don't like my job, so it's a little...
Read moreEvery single employee I talked to was so kind and helpful, especially Jesse! I told him that I had wanted a certain type of rock for my garden border, and when I shared my idea I had called myself “weird.” He corrected me and said “no, not weird at all. That’s really unique!” He sounded so genuine. My family and I went to pick out each of our 500 lbs. of stone and he came by to check on us occasionally (and apparently we broke a record for being there the longest out of anyone else on a Sunday). Tomorrow is my birthday, and I love this place so much that I’ll be spending a few hours there to pick out more pretty rocks and mulch! Here are some cool rocks I found.
ETA: I posted this yesterday and just left Hardscape’s again. Best birthday EVER. Boss, so cool and kindhearted. All the guys on the tractors and at the scales, so awesome. The ladies up front, so...
Read moreI went to this place a couple years ago to get some slate to use in an aquarium I didn't buy very much maybe 20 pounds and I don't remember the exact price but it was really expensive . Recently I had a garden project and I needed some natural stone pathers . I wanted to buy 45 square feet and they were charging $14.20 per piece it came out to $640 for what I needed I immediately turned around and left . I found what I needed at Rossen Midwest stone off 51st near the 169 they had huge slabs that I could break to fit where I need it . I got 500 pounds that was more than enough for my project for just shy of $80 stacked on a pallet and loaded in the back of my truck . It's not fancy just a big dirt lot and an old trailer for an office but these people are the nicest kindest people you ever deal with and they gave me a veteran discount...
