No Concern for Customers' Health - I Will Never Return
Have been shopping here for about a dozen years. Great, albeit pricey, cider, preserves, and local honey. However I will never return. My wife stopped in about a week ago to pick up some cider. She noticed that the sole employee and her visiting friend were not wearing masks. When she inquired about this, the employee became rude to the point of being belligerent. First, she incorrectly stated that masks are not required by law in NC. (They are required by the governor's order.) Then, she began to berate my wife, asking why she had even left the house and why she was not wearing a hazmat suit. She expressed this in a loud manner, shouting at my wife from across a small counter (all while not wearing a mask.) This is inexcusable treatment of a customer and we will never return to this establishment. Read moreThis little gift shop is a lot smaller than it looks from the outside. It has a lot of things in the store. Every inch has a unique something. You can spend a lot of them in this little shop if it has what you are looking for. It has gifts like candy, jelly, fried peanuts, beef jerky, apples, arts & crafts, souvenir t-shirt, etc..., and even apple cider. I purchased several bags of fried peanuts, which I love! I also got a 1/2 gallon apple cider. In the Winter, the Apple cider was still cold after I made a stop and back to the hotel. If you want some apple cider to go, any other season, I recommend bring a cooler. They has apple cider samples. It is worth a quick stop if you are in the Chimney Rock and Lake Lure area.
There are signs at the register asking you pay cash if possible. Being a small business, not having to pay the credit...
Read moreI love this place!! My family and I have been buying cider from here for at least 25 years. I will not buy cider any where else. Every one else's cider tastes like apple juice to me. Since they make it all fresh here, when you go will affect the flavor of the cider you get. The fresh cider tastes just like the apples that are in season. So if you like sweeter cider, go in late August and September to get cider that tastes like the Honey Crisp apples they put in the cider. If you like a more tart cider, go in October when the more tart apples like Granny Smith are in season. Or, better yet, go each month and get some because it is always amazing! You can get offseason cider, but they blend them all together for a more...
