Winn Furniture Co — Local services in Blackstone

Very rude and disrespectful. Called and asked about financing, they said they do in house financing, went in and applied, ran my credit which is mid 600s. They asked for 3 credit references, I gave them 5 all large names, big companies like discover, they were supposed to call me when the credit came back and never did. I called and asked if it came back, they said it did and we are not going to do business with you, your references are not up to our standard. I asked what kind of credit reference would fit their standard, they said local references, so I gave 3 local references, he said yeah maybe but we need to investigate more. Never said my credit wasn't good enough, just local references, mentioned that I'm not originally from Blackstone. SO THE JIST OF IT IS, IF YOU ARE NOT FROM BLACKSTONE (been here a year) then they won't do business with you. Which is a violation of the fair lending act. Also refused to give actual reason for a denial (just beat around the bush) this is a violation of the fair credit reporting act and other federal laws. Would give a -500 stars if I could. Man got frustrated when I was asking him simple questions. Very unprofessional consumers have a right to know a legal reason for denial for financing. If you can't come up with a legal reason then you best be able to explain to the customer why. This is law so consumers can fix whatever the issue is so they can apply again. Just a side note people can't help where they have lived before when they were growing up. I have made the proper complaints made to the proper federal agencies on this company.

That's OK went to another company and bought a new queen size temper pedic mattress and box spring along with new couches and dressers. Credit was just fine.. Way better selection than your spring mattresses. You lost a good customer here with a 100%...
