10 star customer service/sales/installation We’d researched solar even before moving to Iowa, this summer we decided to make the move to solar. I talked to 6 companies (Dubuque never returned a quote, Anamosa and North Liberty were responsive, as were two other out of State companies). I talked to trusted electrician and several Rabe customers before we reached out to Rabe’s. Rabe’s were the only company to actually stand on our roof, completely explained the quote, the timeline, the expected efficiency of the panels/converters AND guaranteed the system’s electric output. Given their reputation, the guarantee on panels -efficiency - workmanship - timeline, and their very competitive quote they quickly became our vender. Today the crew is installing our panels/system (right on schedule as we were promised). Five great guys, clean, courteous, and family friendly. They even wore shoe booties over their shoes when they came inside. They explained everything they were doing and are leaving the job site as nice as I had it before they got here. So far we are EXTREMELY PLEASED with Jake and his crew from Rabe’s, they were always quick to respond if I had a question and took the time to make sure we knew what we were purchasing. They hid almost all of the wires so the system blends into our roof and the side of the house (I’ve noticed other venders don’t take the time to do this). If you’re considering solar, make sure you call Rabe’s - we are so thankful they were recommended to us.

We wanted to get solar panels installed and a good friend recommended Rabe Hardware. After getting a few different quotes, we decided to go with Jake and his crew because of the great feedback we received from multiple trusted sources. The crew did an awesome job installing the panels and hooking everything. All the instructions we straight forward and professionally delivered. Jake was very easy to work with and steered me in the right direction. We had some complications come up (derecho and other contractors - not Rabe) and it threw the schedule off but Jake was flexible and worked with us on completion of the job. I am confident we made the right choice. Every step of the way his crew was professional and easy to work with. I feel like we found a contractor that takes care of us the way we would a family member. 5 stars all the way.

I first talked to Kaleb Rabe at the NE Iowa Home Show in Waterloo about installing solar panels on my home. He was very clear about explaining the process and costs. Brandi was very helpful helping me navigate the process of completing the necessary paperwork with MidAmerican Energy. The process did take longer than I anticipated, but was eventually completed. The on-site work was completed in a day. The crew was very thorough, even checking my gutters for me. (Which I truly appreciated). Upon completion of the job there was no sign that a work crew had been there. Other than 8 new solar panels securely attached to my roof. Thank you for a job well done.

An update/response to their response. So an response to there claim. It was reported Friday night because that's when I got home. Second the AC unit is located on the upper floor in the ceiling, please show me where it came through the ceiling then through the floor then through another ceiling. The technician chaz admitted that the water all over the PC was caused by him blowing the line out. Third this "waterfall" of a leak that you seem to be implying was just a couple drops that was coming through the intake grate that is in the ceiling because the evaporator pan was full. So after maybe an 1/8 cup of water got off the floor I drilled a hole in the pan to make sure it would drain properly. Also this all happened about a week before I called you to come fix because I did try to see if it was something I could do. Before you say anything no I did not shove anything down any line or try to blow the lines out. Again this was going on before you were called. No issues or water damage to any of our property. It was only after you showed up to fix it and chaz admitted to the damage.

Just got off the phone with Jeremy and he is now blaming me for the damage that was done. There own service tech admitted to the damage. Had them come out to clean a clogged drain from our A/C unit that is in the attic. After blowing the line out there was water all over my PC desk,a huge scratch in my gaming monitor and water in my PC case causing damage to my MSI RTX 4090 liquid suprim graphics card. I have been trying to communicate with them and there has been little to no communication back from them. I had several remotes I had to put in a bag of rice to dry out. There was damage done to my PC,which I had to get taken apart asap and dried out. 1 of the ram sticks were damaged. They still refuse to rectify the situation. I have used them in the past with zero issues and have enjoyed the work they have done, but with 3500-4000 dollars in damage done and refusing to make it right...

We've had Rabe Hardware install or repair multiple projects in our house: whole-home generator, air purification system, water softener, sump pump.

But our latest project was a mini split heating/cooling system in our master bathroom. My husband and I had a dilemma... our master bathroom is chilly in the morning, so we've been using a space heater. Probably not a great idea to combine electricity just feet from an open shower. However after a shower and blow drying long hair, I'm SUPER hot! Hot/cold, Hot/cold...what's the answer?! I contacted Rabe Hardware and asked about a mini split heating/cooling system. Problem was, outside-facing wall space was limited in our master bathroom. This did not deter the Rabe team from searching to find a different model of mini split that not only looks FABULOUS and CONTEMPORARY, but solves our not-so-agreeable temperature needs.

I can't say enough about the Rabe team's work ethic and attention to detail. From the minute they arrived, they are professional, competent and work so efficiently. They involve us in all decision making to ensure we won't have any surprises after installation. Everything is done with such precision, including tarps laid down to protect our carpet. Everything is cleaned up practically better than before they arrived. The guys were so great in explaining the remote control settings.

The real test came the next morning. Overnight temps dropped to the 30s. We close our bathroom door at night to block out the light. It was a chilly 64 degrees in there to start! We fired up the mini split to "jet" heat mode, and 10 minutes later? A balmy 77 degrees! No shivering in the shower! AND... we were pleasantly surprised to see, even in heat mode, it combated the humidity! Our shower is open with dual shower heads, so before, even with the vent running, mirrors were fogged over and the light fixtures and counter top were literally sweating with humidity. Best investment we've ever made! Thank you...

Just really sad that we have done business with them for years and they ruined my sons PC that I built for him a little over a year ago. Its sad that they did not even try to resolve the damage they caused. Its sad because they always did good work and was always happy. Now we have to find someone else to do work and I have to find someone to fix the issues they did not even fix. After the damage to our property they never fixed the issue. The service technician even admitted to the damage. My family is stressed out already because our son is overseas fighting and protecting our country and now I have to pay to fix his PC and gaming monitor that they damaged. I am glad that my son is fighting for their right to be horrible...
