I LOVE Manresa Jesuit Retreat Center. It is one of those "thin places" where one can so much more readily feel a connection to the Divine. The spiritual exercises of St Ignatius, and the overall spirituality of Manresa, feels inclusive and graceful, while also earthy and practical. This has been an important place for me to learn about the above. I also adore the library here and the small book "shop." It is always a comfortable place to stay. Manresa is truly a world apart. This is an amazing place. I have been a retreatant here for 5 years in a row and will continue to attend a retreat every year. The food is delicious, the Jesuits are approachable and engaging, and there is a loving and peaceful atmosphere throughout the entire compound. Was sad to have to leave before our day was done. The ice storm was getting bad and we were only a day event. The lunch was a lovely fish, salad, rice and vegetables and fruit all wonderfully made with care (gluten-free and soy free to my joy). Will gladly go back for events in the future.
