In my former life I had Broken knees, shoulders, clavicles and gained much experience with better and lesser PTs. Recently, and as a consequence of yet another cycling accident I had been looking for a PT and received the recommendation for Cranbrook, where I started to receive treatment by Alissa in the recovery after a fairly complicated femur fracture. With competence, I can state that Alissa is the Best, who I’ve ever met to help me back on my feet. She is extremely knowledgeable as it relates to injuries and impact on the entire body, muscles, skeleton and nerves. She is thorough in her analysis of and advise for active and passive exercises. She is 100% present, observant and direct in giving instructions and recommendations. At the same time can she be funny and joking, making it often possible to perform agonizing exercises with a smile on the face. To sum it up: Alissa cares about her patients. It is worthwhile and important to mention, that the entire environment and team at Cranbrook PT emits the same spirit and culture. I personally enjoy the environment (and stationary bicycle) very much. I thank Chuck for the recommendation and Alissa and the entire Cranbrook team for their...
Read moreMy relentless lower back pain felt like a weighted hook hanging on my sciatic nerve. The Cranbrook PT therapist (Ann) conducted an evaluatation and identified my left side sacrum and surrounding muscels and tendons as the pain source. She then executed a comprehensive rehabilitation plan targeting the area with therapeutic exercises and modalities such as deep tissue pressure point release, massage, traction, and ultrasound. What a relief! My pain level has gone from an eight to a one. I've attended two sessions per week for a few weeks and other days am doing her recommended exercises at home. In addition to the targeted therapeutics, Ann also spent time educating me on the related joints, nerves, muscles and tendons contributing to my inflamation and pain. And finally, she's provided some helpful/easy home exercises I can take forward to keep my lower back strong and pain free. Overall, Cranbrook PT has been a...
Read moreI'm a very active person, but when an inadvertent twist to my lower back left me wincing even upon getting out of bed, I knew that Anne and her staff could help--and they did. There's no substitute for the personalized, hands-on treatment that I received at Cranbrook Physical Therapy. Anne has a gift for homing in on the point of injury and the affected areas, and she is extraordinarily knowledgable about how to manipulate those areas to increase movement and promote healing.
After several sessions, I'm back to running and moving and feeling good all day. I credit Anne and Cranbrook for making me pain-free, but even more important is that they allow me to maintain my overall good health by helping me to...
