I write this to express my extreme disappointment with my experience at the Bloomsburg Fair. From the moment I arrived, I was met with nothing but disrespect from those in charge. The treatment I received was not only unprofessional but also deeply rooted in racism, making it clear that discriminatory attitudes still thrive within the fairâs organization.
What was most telling was how far certain individuals went to reinforce the presence of the "good ol' boys" mentality. However, despite their efforts, law enforcement intervened and made it clear that I was in no way at fault. This only confirmed to me that the issue is not with Bloomsburg as a whole, but rather with the fair and its leadership.
I refuse to support an event where my contributions go toward individuals who uphold racist values. I will never attend the Bloomsburg Fair again and will strongly discourage anyone I know from doing so. My experience left me with an undeniable understanding that this fair does not welcome or respect all people, and that is unacceptable.
I sincerely hope that serious changes are made within the fairâs leadership and policies, but as it stands, I cannot support an event that allows such blatant...
Read moreThe Bloomsburg Fair is always a fun time. Rain or shine you can always have a good time. There are so many different food options for every taste, fun vendors, animals, games and free entertainment. I know some people gripe about the admission cost but I've been to much smaller events where I've paid a lot more for admission and they weren't even a 1/4 of the size. The fair offers very large parking lots as well as trolleys to tote fair goers to and from the area they parked. While fair parking is nice, we try to support the locals and pay to park in their yards. Street parking is hard to come by so be prepared to pay for parking and you may have a little walk. Overall the fair is always a favorite kick off to fall. And some of this fair goers favorite stands to hit up are Roans Apple dumplings for their Apple and peach dumplings with homemade cinnamon ice cream. Lungers meat stand for a pork chop on a stick. Karchners for their prime rib and cheese bretzel, rice pudding, and peanut butter pie on a stick. The Yellow and Green stand for their fried veggies and motz cubes. The list goes on. Until next year Bloomsburg Fair. This year did...
Read moreBAD JUDGEMENT ON THE EVACUATION OF THE PARKING LOTS. The parking lot was a nightmare to leave. There was no one directing traffic and we had to exit threw an old tractor path in the uper parking field with about 700+ other vehicles. I know there was an emergency situation with a helicopter crash but they should have evacuated the parking so that they could ases the damage without a few thousand people and vehicles interfering. They did nothing at all to direct traffic as we went threw the fields and the woods all the way down to nearly the river. All of this was over 4+ hours after the accident and wasn't even blocking the otherwise perfectly clear exit to leave . May the heavens forbid there is ever a mass emergency ESPECIALLY ONE OF THE TYPE WE AS AMERICANS HAVE COME TO FEAR BECAUSE THERE SEEMS TO BE NO CONTINGENCY PLAN IN PLACE FOR EVACUATION. That helicopter pad was incredibly close to the main entrance to the fairground and thank God there wasn't a significantly large amount of casualties.like everthing else in this world the fair is more interested in profits then people and was willing to play helicopter...
