Buffalo Trail Cabins: Cottages, Lodges, Treehouses — Local services in Bluefield

When you walk into the restaurant at a resort, you pay good money to stay at you should not be told you need to make reservations for dinner. We were told for a table of four it would be 2+ hours and only two tables were taken in the back part of the restaurant. Being we had been riding all day and we’re starving we placed a to go order. When the hostess brought the order out, she assured us she had checked it. When we got all the way back to our cabin, we realized we were missing part of our order. I was refunded for the missing food. It is just very frustrating that you come in from riding all day hungry to somewhat be turned away from the place you’re staying at over outsiders that make reservations. I have eaten here many times and the food is always very good. However, when it is nearly 20° outside by the time you walk back to your cabin, the food is not warm. As far as the cabins go. If your looking for a friendly & welcoming place to stay while your riding the Hatfield McCoy trails. Then this is your place. I have stayed here 4 times in the past year. The cabins are amazing & have everything you need for a great stay, they are SUPER CLEAN & up to date. Nothing old or out dated here. You will never come across a friendlier or a more accommodating staff. If you would need anything they will take care of it ASAP. Plus you get a great restaurant & bar on site. Let me first say that I am a bit of a snob when it comes to accommodations. Regardless of that Buffalo Trail was an okay choice. The resort itself was easy to get to and close to Hatfield & McCoy trails. We stayed at the Mountain Getaway cabin. The cabin was decently sized, fairly clean and had almost everything we needed. Our only complaint is that the beds and couch are horribly uncomfortable...and that's a pretty big deal to us. We ate at the restaurant both nights...they have a lot of menu options and the items we tried were...
