Our biggest complaint is that the website IS NOT accurate so they get you there and it's not what you saw in photos or read on their website.
Upon checking in our treehouse had a blown light therefore making it impossible to see and no patio furniture (as shown online). We were moved to another treehouse because they couldn't get the light fixed and they immediately brought 2 patio chairs over. So, they fixed our issues promptly and politely. During this time staff stated that the website was outdated and the new owner hated that SO....update it!
The treehouses are super tiny! 12x24 as listed online includes the deck so the actual inside is more like a 12x12 and 2 people is about all that fits in there. It wasn't swept or really cleaned out either (cob webs in the octagon window and corners). There is no ventilation (no fan or heat) so take a fan. The bunks are a wooden frame with a thin mattress and very uncomfortable and they are single/twin bunks. Parking space is bad! If you're on a truck with a trailer (95% are) you have to spend a lot of time to maneuver to safely get yourself parked near your space (some even had to unhook their trailers to be out of the road). There is a firewood shed but it is not stacked at your site as listed. The bathhouse wasn't filthy but also could use a good daily cleaning (dead/dried bugs on walls/ceilings) and didn't have hand soap for just using the restroom and washing your hands.
The restaurant food was good and fair priced but it's only open 4PM to 10PM so be prepared to fend for breakfast and lunch without being able to stay onsite. The wording of a brewery is misleading! There is no onsite brewery. The covered patio seating area called the brewery wasn't opened either night that we stayed.
All in all it isn't great and in my opinion overpriced for what it is but the restaurant manager did politely and quickly try to help our issues. The biggest complaint remains that the website IS NOT accurate so they get you there and it's not what you saw in photos or read on...
Read moreNot what it was. Went this past weekend with a new group, was a horrible experience. We have made this a part of our trip for the past several years but will no longer. I'm not a one bad experience is enough person but have seen things sliding for a bit. We had reservations so we were seated right away which was the only thing that seemed to go right. They were obviously understaffed for the evening so the manager came over to take our drink order after sitting for about 15 minutes (not the end of the world). All but 3 of our drinks came out wrong, the original seating chart only listed about 3/4 of our party so when our poor waitress came to catch up she had to completely wing it. We had to go get our own refills, food was at best ok. When it came time to leave our poor waitress had to spend about 30 minutes trying to rework what the manager didn't do so she could figure out how to bill everything. I get being busy and I understand staff issues, but then stop seating people if you can't serve them. If you don't have the ability to take a drink order and turn over a successful seating chart then don't get involved. How our server kept from walking out I have no Idea. We had several other couples that have not been to the area before and I would be shocked if they ever entertained any of the Buffalo Trail services due to how terrible...
Read moreWe were looking for a restaurant that didn't close at 8:00 or 9:00 pm. This one was open till 10:00 pm and looked really nice. There is indoor and outdoor dining. The outdoor is covered and looks really nice as there were several areas that you could choose from. The service was great and the food was good. The atmosphere was very friendly and there were a lot of ATV riders there also. There were cabins and RV spots next to the restaurant and it looked very well kept. I will stop by there again on my next trip.
On our 2nd trip we stayed at the Buffalo cabins and came in late after riding. We debated eating at the restaurant as it was closing time, but we decided to give it a try. We arrived 5 minutes till closing and was met by a charming young lady and she seated us no problem (sorry forgot her name). Our server Carrie was absolutely great! Carrie took our orders and recommended several menu items and they were all great. It is very rare to find that kind of service at closing time and it was the highlight of the day. We will definitely be staying and dining...
