Update #2: We tried a ham steak from here. I fried it in a large skillet with no lid. There was a half inch of water in the pan. The ham was very tasty, but I'm not going to pay for water in my meat. It's really unfortunate that this place isn't better because the location is perfect for us: half way between us and our son. . Update: the reply from the butcher shop says to cook the burgers on a grill. We don't own a grill. Or to drain the "juice" (i.e. water) from the pan... I shouldn't have to do that. There should not be so much liquid in frying a couple of burgers. I think I 'll go back to my old butcher shop even though it is over an hour away for better beef. .
We tried this new local butcher shop. They have only been open a few weeks and the reviews have been very favorable. I guess I'm the first to be disappointed. First of all they only pack burgers in 2 to a package and they are 1/3# --- I prefer 1/4# so you get more burgers per pound and they are small enough for kids to eat. But the real disappointment was the amount of grease and water in the burgers. I didn't add anything to the pan except a quick spray because everything sticks in this pan if I don't. I have a quarter inch of liquid in the pan now --some of which appears to be water. It's hard to get a browned burger if it is cooked in water... Looks like we will have to continue to drive to Chamberlain Farms...
Read moreThis is our second experience with ribs from YCC. My family fought over the first rack because the quality of the meat was so superb. I went in and purchased four more racks and just made a couple last night. You can’t find quality like this at Giant Eagle or anywhere else. Once you try, you’ll know what I’m referring to. You can taste it in the meat, and it falls right off of the bone, soft as can be. I made them by dry rubbing Quaker Steak & Lube Chipotle BBQ seasoning prior to cooking. Cooked in oven at 250 for roughly 3 hours. Kinder’s BBQ sauce finished it off. I’ve also been in to purchase burgers a few times. My family absolutely loves those too! YCC is a great local business, very friendly service and we are so happy we don’t have to drive to Canfield to find...
Read moreMy family and I were out looking for a family owned farm to table grocery store! And trust me we HIT BIG finding this spot! Came all the way from Chippewa and came across this meat palace! I purchased a whole chicken, beef bacon (I’D BET ITS BETTER THAN YOUR BUTCHERS! & LOCAL MEAT MARKET NOT SALTY PERFECTLY SMOKED) and some other items. At that was informed and had great customer service through the process as it was my first time. They support veteran families! The prices were great! And the TASTE…. I grilled up chicken breast and beef! It was superb. I give them 20 stars! This is now my go to spot for my family. I’ll be purchasing cases of...
