My fiance and I rented tuxedos for our wedding in July 2023. Our initial appointment went great which is why we decided to rent from Giovanni’s. That initial appointment was just about the only positive experience we had at this location. First, when going to get measured, all we observed was complete disorganization with no walk-in management system in place. When my bridal party finally did get help during their fittings, they stood in their tuxedos for an extended period of time as the employee’s measured half of their tuxedo before jumping to help someone else without completing the job. If walk-in’s can’t be accommodated properly, they should require all customers to make an appointment. Aside from the lack of a walk-in management system, the quality of the rentals we received was very poor. They were ordered in the wrong sizes, had seams coming apart, and even buttons popping off. Even worse than the quality of the tux’s was how unprofessional the owner was. When we mentioned the issues, we were told “You do know you're renting a tux, right?” (YES! FOR $250) OR WORSE called us nit picky and said “If a woman is getting close enough to your husband to see these mistakes in his tux you need to tell her to back up.” Finally, after my husband tried on his shoes in his size (10) they took his shoes back to get buffed and gave them back to him in his rental bag. We did not find out until the morning of our wedding that the shoes he was given back were a size 12, forcing him to walk around on the wedding day in shoes that were way too big. These are just a few of the negative things I can say but ultimately, I would not...
Read moreJust be sure to carefully inspect every single detail of the tux before leaving the store or you will be disappointed when you get home. And, if for some reason you miss a few imperfections - say, perhaps, you are 17 - make sure you have safety pins and a small, sharp pair of scissors at home so that you can fix what needs to be fixed, imperfections which should have been properly addressed in-store, not at home.
Three tuxes from Men’s Wearhouse and not a single complaint. Perfection.
First one last one from Giovanni’s.
Also, I did speak to Giovanni. He looked at the blue lining sticking out of the bottom of my son’s jacket and told me that I could have safety-pinned it. When I told him that the bow tie was tied improperly and sat crooked the entire night, he told me that it sat crooked because we didn’t arrange the shirt collar properly. That shirt collar would not stay inside the vest/close to the neck no matter how much we manipulated it because it’s wasn’t properly pressed prior to leaving the shop. A true professional would have accepted responsibility for such sloppy workmanship.
Clearly, at Giovanni’s, customer satisfaction is entirely dependent on the customer. Indeed, it is your responsibility to find the flaws in their...
