The lady who checked us in when we arrived after the office closed was super nice! She brought us firewood and really cool candle wax firestars. She was the best host that we met in our 2 week camping trip. The site is a level concrete pad at the bottom of the park. I saw lizards and several wild rabbits running around. Be aware that there are houses behind the place to park your rv and lots of the houses have cameras pointed at various places. Not sure if their cameras were pointed at us or not.
The laundry is NOT coin operated. They require you to download an app and pay with a credit card. A suggestion would be to post a sign on how much it costs to use the washer and dryer. We had laundry to do, but after reading bad reviews about the laundry app, we did not do laundry here.
The bathrooms were interesting. There are 2 stalls in the bathroom and 2 showers on the men's side and the same on the woman's side. My family and others staying here that I talked to complained about the lack of privacy and see-through shower curtians. There is a shower curtain that opens to a small area with 2 seats and then separate shower curtains for each shower. In the men's side, the fans did not work, and one light was not working, and the showers needed a good clorox scrubbing. My suggestion to the owner is to buy private shower curtains and use some conduit to make more private dividers in the showers and clean the showers daily.
I walked around the park in the morning and saw lots of bits of trash scattered around here and there on various roads and over the brick wall at the bottom. Also saw lots of staff riding carts around. We were told that there was good wifi here, but it does not work for watching online videos or downloading documents.
The Lake Mead visitors center nearby was nice enough to let my daughter use free wifi so she could do her online college classes. If you stay here, you should visit, they are super nice and sell lots of cool stuff. They also have a cactus garden with nice paths to walk on and super clean path rooms with a water refill station.
One good thing about the lady who took our reservation for this park. She told us about the 3 hour hoover dam tour. We did the tour and it was amazing! Saw the Hoover dam from below the bridge and saw lots of wild sheep with horns climbing on the rocks. Saw lots of other cool stuff along the way. The guy driving the van and Cathleen the boat pilot were the best! I would highly recommend the tour! Also, you need a national park access pass to stay here and do the tour.
Overall, even though the camp host was the nicest person we met on our trip, we would not stay here again since coin laundry services, wifi and clean, private showers are high...
Read moreWe stayed at the beautiful Lake view section of the RV Village from April 22, 2022, through May 6, 2022 (2 weeks). If you are planning to stay at this location, a Lake View site is a Must!
You won’t get a site number until you arrive, but upon arrival the host on duty will take you to your site and assist you to get parked. The staff was Amazing. I want to call out the host that assisted us when we arrived there. "Eleanor" in particular. She is the #1 reason our stay was Fantastic!! Literally the BEST host EVER! She was nothing but smiles all around, happy, just a pleasure to be around. I am not sure if she is still working there or not. We stayed in site LV15, a back-in Lake View with full hook-ups, it has an AMAZING view of Lake Mead. The site was spacious, and the layout provided a sense of privacy, so you could enjoy sitting to take in the view or enjoying a campfire while gazing at the stars. The flowers in the area gave a sweet fragrance that filled the air, something I have never experienced. The sunsets were picture perfect, each day offering a new color array to please the eyes. The park offered the usual amenities for full hook ups, most sites have Wi-Fi, there is propane fill up that can be purchased onsite, laundry facilities that are open 24/7, a nice variety of outdoor activities. Picnic areas with BBQ’s, they also had a convenience store and gift shop. There are meeting rooms that can be used for group activities. The Lake view is backed by motor homes for the permanent residence that stay there 6 months out of the year. There are other RV spots that are not lake view.
After our 2 weeks in the lakeview spot, we stayed in a pull-through site between 11th and 12th street from May 7th through May 21st. The view was still amazing. These sites are not as spacious as the lake views, but we were still able to fit our 5th wheel, truck, and extra car. I will provide a pic of this site as well.
For packages, we used Bee's Business & Mail Service, a close by local business in Boulder city. There is a marina, and Boulder beach that is within walking distance, though we didn't swim in the water during our stay.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: You will need a National Park pass and ID to get into the park. If you need to purchase one, you can get it at the entrance. Make sure you keep it in a safe place and not out in the open, as I have heard of people. getting their passes taken...
Read moreOne employee ruined a good review!! The park is nice, we’ve been going for several years. But lately we’ve come into the worst customer service from an onsite office clerk named Donna. I just thought that the few times I’ve stayed there she was just new and learning. It’s my luck that when I call she answers and jacks up my reservations every time in same way or another. (one time, she said she’d call me back because her computer was down, and never did, & when I called back they were sold out. Three hours ago you had plenty of spaces now your sold out?! Another time I needed to move my dates, she couldn’t change it, I had to call back yet again and speak to manager to get it changed. The manager said she could have done it. The first time we stayed next to the dumpsters and it was awful. The next reservation I requested not to be placed there, the gentleman that made the reservation for us said he put it in the notes that he would not move us. But DONNA did! She says spots aren’t guaranteed. But the other agents say yes they are. She claimed there was a large group they wanted to be placed together. So she moved us, (we had reservations booked for over 6 months!) We arrived there with a packed RV & impatient dogs only to be escorted next to the dumpster site. As we were turning our rig around to go find another campground on a three day weekend, I called & asked her for a refund. She refused until she saw us “drive by the office”. I called the corporate office. They agreed it was a shitty thing to say and how she acted was unprofessional. For the record, I wouldn’t want anyone to be placed by the dumpsters, they should simply relocate them. This Donna is useless, uneducated in her job and has terrible customer service. If they don’t fire Donna, an immediate transfer to cleaning the fire pits & toilets would be recommended. I’m sure she could figure that out. My recommendation is bypass the office altogether and call the 844 number on the website, they know how to speak to people, work a computer and call...
