Sugar Maple Square Shopping Center — Local services in Bowling Green

I remember when Sugar Maple Square was first built and it has so many stores and seemed like it was going to have a lot going on at the time. But overtime stores started leaving and it has become somewhat of an eyesore.

There used to be a Houchens food store, Dollar General Store (which moved down the street), a Library and tons of other stores and small businesses. I remember when the “Hines Pharmacy” building used to be a “Hardee’s”.

There’s really nothing there for anyone unless you live in the projects or the lower income housing that is close to Sugar Maple Square and the only thing I see people really using would be the pharmacy or the laundromat.

There’s a place on the side of the building that is an animal groomer and a barbershop/hair salon right beside it. I think the same person owns both businesses?

I remember I went there to get my hair cut once and walked in and it smelled like an animal shelter and the lady told me to hold on a second while she ran next door to get her clippers and I’m pretty sure she was going to use the same clippers and trimmers that she used on animals, so I left REAL QUICK!

In all there should be something put in that section of town to bring some life back into that side of town, but I’m sure the city or whoever owns it will probably just let it rot before trying to fix it up.

Seems like no one cares about that side of town anyways, but it would be nice to have some reputable stores put in for people to have some things to visit on that...

There are several places to visit here they have a daycare that I believe offers 24hr service not 100%. I use the laundry mat there and I recommend the laundry place because the they have a drop off service and plenty of large and small washers and dryers that...

I went to the Laundry. A laundromat that has a wonderful drop off service that does an incredible job. Accommodating staff. I have not met the lady that did my laundry but she is excellent. I will be back. Sometimes you need to travel one more mile to go from...
