The Bernina shop in my area has closed, as the owners are retiring. My husband called around a bit and chose Whittles to get me a birthday serger. He came back (over an hour drive away) with glowing reviews about how friendly and helpful everyone there was. Unfortunately, there was a small issue with the machine, no fault of theirs, but we needed to switch it out. Cathy was so helpful and didn’t bat an eye! She ordered us a new one and we picked it up in under a week. The shop is amazing. I got a trolley case for my machine (so cute!), and everything there was so lovely, clean and organized.
Unfortunately (for me!) it is truly a quilters haven/heaven, and I sew garments, so I won’t be frequenting the shop. Read moreI purchased a sewing machine last week at this place. I paid over $1000 for this investment after much research. I decided on this place. I drove almost two hours for this purchase. I was told that it was brand new out of the box. When the staff told me they had to take to take the machine out of the box to “check it out” , I didn’t question them as I thought it was customary for their store to ensure customer satisfaction. After two days at home I tested the machine out , to see dirt on the foot pedal, much fabric scraps around the metal parts above the needle and 114,000 stitches. After speaking to the manufacturer , I was told that the average “new” sewing machine after in-house testing was about “500” stitches, I new immediately that I was played. I returned it the following Monday. The only thing good I can say is this store actually refunded my money without question. Of course, no one apologized or explained how this “new” machine has so many...

I was willing to drive 70 miles one way to have my machine serviced. I'm glad I called first-they proceeded to tell me they only offer service to machines purchased from them. With how much you pay for a Bernina machine you should be able to have them serviced anywhere. Bernina should take them off their main web site as a...
