Overall this is a pretty decent place to live. The staff does a pretty good job of helping with anything that needs to be dealt with. Wish I could say that everybody who lives here really cared about the neighborhood and tried to make it better for everyone around them, but like all neighborhoods you always have those who could care less about others or rules in general, it happens. There are those who will tell you it's rundown and outdated and that the rent is too high. Some people expect more than what they should. If you want a new house in a new neighborhood and all new appliances, there are plenty of those nearby and out there a bit further. And yes a 30 year mortgage payment would be a whole lot less than the rent here, IF YOU HAVE GOOD CREDIT. However I have seen the workmanship on some of the new homes, I have heard the complaints about the poor quality of items used and how these new houses are already falling apart. With home ownership comes responsibility. A leaky faucet, on your own house, can cost from $100 and up to fix. A plugged toilet can cost you another $100. A leaking water heater can cost from $300 to $400 or more. A leaking roof, can cost several hundred to thousands. An air conditioner or furnace stops working and can be fixed for hundreds to thousands or replaced for several more thousand. I've been there, I've done that. I have owned I have rented and quite honestly I would rather call the housing office up and say hey I've got a problem and they come fix it. I would also rather have this 30 year house and this 30 year old stove with the solid construction, heavy duty porcelain and performance that it has, than the ones they are replacing them with that will never in a million years hold up like these have done. Ten or fifteen years, possibly, but never 30 like these. I say if you're not sure, give it a try, you just might...
Read moreI waited a while to put these thoughts into words. I was genuinely so frustrated when I left these apartments.
I had an awful experience living at these apartments. From the start, they were dishonest about my deposit, initially quoting one amount, then demanding an extra $1,000. The unit itself was infested with ants, and when I reported it to maintenance, they said “everyone has them” and that I’d have to deal with it.
The apartment was covered in mold from what was clearly water damage, likely caused during the freeze. They showed me a model unit with no issues to get me to sign the lease. The washer and dryer I rented were disgusting – filled with dog hair, grime, gum, and crayons from previous tenants. On top of that, the sliding door lock didn’t work, making the place feel even less secure.
Maintenance entered my apartment without any notice, which was highly invasive. The Wi-Fi constantly went out because the attics were infested with squirrels, and the apartment above refused to let maintenance in to fix the issue. Another neighbor in a nearby unit stalked me every day, making me feel completely unsafe.
The park areas were always covered in dog waste, the pool was filthy, and I regularly heard loud domestic disputes from neighbors. I also woke up several times covered in ants, and the upstairs neighbor would drop trash onto my patio since the patios weren’t properly sealed.
Since I moved out, my old unit has had about ten different tenants in just three months – a clear sign of how bad things are here. When I tried to bring these issues up, the leasing staff pretended not to know who I was.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. It’s unsafe, unsanitary, and poorly managed. At one point there was one maintenance guy for the hundreds of...
Read moreNot great. Not terrible. Housing built on old military infrastructure that isn’t individually accountable for power or water, so the mass abuse effects the whole neighborhood. Your rent is going to go up each year. Period dot. Yet the quality of living (no, I’m not talking about the houses) does not. The neighborhood has turned into theft, domestic disputes, and overall a less than favorable place to live. Our yard was vandalized and stolen out of multiple times. They (hunt) are accountable for the repairs, but over the last few years that I lived there, the repairs were sub-par at best. (Blinds hung missing brackets and sagging (even after getting the director out there with the head of maintenance to repair it a second time it was still only half fixed), improper suggested repairs to cut cost by contractors they hire, missing or not fully competed repairs such as outlet covers left off and laying around or trash, Etc...).
Is it a place to live? Yes. Is it the best place to live for the money? Absolutely not. I’ve been removed from the place for a year now with my own home and from the people I know that still live there, it isn’t getting any better.
The staff, Todd especially, are communicative and will talk with you. I had a few conversations with Todd on not only trying to help to improve that place but issues I had as well. They did listen. And they’re pretty great to deal with. But the company that runs and owns that place is very openly concerned about making the biggest profit they can. I’d recommend looking elsewhere. I can’t see the housing being worth the money.
A housing complex, lacking infrastructure, where quality and cost...
