Extremely disappointing customer service at Ellsworth AFB Commissary, particularly by Mr Trenton Jackson.
I recently attempted to return a package of beef that had an odor. I froze it immediately that night and later attempt return on next trip to commissary, unopened and intact uncut, not tampered, with the receipt—acting in good faith.
Mr. Jackson approached with a hostile, condescending, and accusatory tone, refused to hear my explanation, and treated me as if I were trying to scam the store for a $10 return. He accused me of “changing my story” and made the entire experience deeply uncomfortable. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, he emphasized his authority as the one in charge and told staff to “walk away” from me & said to me "I'm done". He also imposed new rules and questioned why I didn’t call the store immediately.
I’ve never experienced such dismissive and condescending treatment. If DeCA has special return policies for perishable items—like requiring a phone call—they are not posted. I followed up with staff at awarding commissaries: Peterson SFB and Yuma Proving Ground commissaries, both of whom confirmed they follow DeCA policy and do not enforce anything like this in similar situations. They are very welcoming & also handled my inquiry far more respectfully and helpfully.
No customer deserves to be treated this way—especially over a reasonable return with a valid reason and receipt. Even now the issue has been solved, I was advised by mentors & retirees to post this publicly. Everything is the truth & factual. Management should take this type of...
Read moreA lot of good prices on many items. Fruits and vegetables seem to be declining in quality more and more. Putting Serrano peppers by the entrance door wasn't a smart decision. I shouldn't have to ask a produce worker when I'm looking for them in the produce section if they have any in the back and be told those are by the front entrance. That was a real inconvenience when I was buying several produce items and had to go up there to get those. It's hard enough as a handicap person to walkto where something belongs without being in the right area and have to go to a totally different area for something when I shouldn't have had to. Another problem is that way too often there are items on the shelf that are past there best buy dates. I do have to say that they do have an extremely friendly staff, more than willing to...
Read moreAlways seems the Commissary is usually out of half and half. There is usually fat free half and half available. Have asked folks that work there about the problem and the answer is always the same. "Must wait for the delivery and they have no control on what is delivered". This has been a problem for at least the last 3 to 4 years. There is a definite stocking problem when a product that is always available (fat free half and half) and a product (regular half and half) that rarely is available. Maybe the commissary should order more regular half and half and less fat free half and half. Is there really such a thing as fat free half and half any way? Other than this issue the commissary does a fairly good job of...
