Nuzzo's Farm — Local services in Branford

My honest review of Nuzzo’s farm, great potential but needs some work. There were a few things I would say I was unhappy with see below…

The coordinator seems a little scattered, giving different information at various meetings making things lack in consistency, which makes it difficult to plan. ie) first meeting we were we told we could be there as early as we want to setup & get ready but then two weeks before at our final walk through she sprung on us we could not arrive until 4 hours before. This worked out eventually but was stressful at times trying to get correct info from her or even a response. The coordinator gave site tours to multiple couples on the day of our wedding, which I found highly inappropriate. At least four different couples. one time there were strangers peeking in the bridal suite (we could have been changing, luckily were not) Our caterer arrived and tables for the buffet were not setup, this should have been done two hours beforehand but the coordinator was busy touring with couples or so it seems so this was not done, just another stress where I the bride, had to figure out what was going on with tables one hour before guest arrival. At around 8:30 pm the owner told the dj to turn down the music and turn the speakers away from the dance floor which was outside although we were told we have until 10 to play music etc. slightly killing the vibe/mood. Something guests picked up on which was disappointing there is no staff to setup/clean up table setting are to be done by the bride/wedding party/someone you hire etc. this is not told to you at first meeting. They also have strict cleanup rules so at 10 pm I had to have everyone help cleanup absolutely everything (we used a uhaul and filled that) just another inconvenience mood killer you are not totally made aware of when first booking Staff members helped themselves to food (which I am okay with) but then sat at the bar on their phones taking up seats during our wedding, leaving less seats for our guests. Highly unprofessional Bar tenders were rude, inconsistent, not trained for high volume, signature drink ranged in color/taste and even look, zero consistency at all. For the price expected more especially seeing as I even offered to get the items for the signature cocktails there were other small things that came up over time, more like inconsistent communication between staff etc that was the biggest thing. I think they have some kinks to workout

It’s sad they are good but could be great or even amazing. Overall perfect wedding day because I married the love of my life but the venue did drop the ball more than a few times and for what we paid overall was expecting...

My future stepson and his wife had their wedding and reception at Nuzzo's in June of this year (2024). I found the whole experience less than likeable. I suppose, based on other reviews, if you get the top of the line package the owners treat you differently.

1. They wouldn't let us set up the venue for the wedding on Thursday evening after the rehearsal even though they didn't have an another wedding booked between our rehearsal and our family's wedding the next day.
2. As we set up the venue Friday afternoon there were a couple of rude encounters; a) we were initially told that we couldn't even place the guest book on the bar because they didn't pay for the bar package and that the guest book may scratch the surface of the bar. b) when we tried to fill our ice tea and lemonade decanters we were told we weren't really allowed to use the water nor could we use their ice. We had to buy our own ice.
3. After the ceremony, it felt as though we were under the watchful eye of the wedding gestapo during the reception dinner, dancing, etc. They kept walking up and down the aisle for God only knows what. They yelled at part of the bridal party when they were decorating the newlyweds car and accused then of drinking on the property. They also yelled at us as we drove down to the bridal suite to remove our personal items because "usually that's done at the end of the wedding". That's a direct quote from the owner. I'd also add that even though the venue is beautiful, I wouldn't recommend it for more than 80-90 guests. If you have more guests than that, there will hardly be any room to dance. We had about 130 and if someone from the far end of the table needed to get up, 7 other people would have to stand up and/or move their chairs to allow that person to be able to pass by behind them. The bridal suite is nice but there's only one mirror (which, ironically, is not located in the bathroom) and no lock on the bathroom door.

Again, I'm convinced if my future stepson and his wife bought the top of the line package, they would've been treated completely different. For that reason I give this a one star rating because at times the owner was...

Where do I even start? Our wedding at Nuzzo’s Farm was truly a dream come true, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we booked, Audra went above and beyond in every possible way to make our day perfect. She didn’t just rent out a space—she poured her heart into helping us, stepping in wherever we needed, and doing more than I’ve ever seen an owner do at any wedding venue.

Audra was there every step of the way—answering my million questions, keeping things stress-free, and somehow knowing exactly what I didn’t. She was my girl to count on during the big day, she coordinated seamlessly with all our vendors, and made sure everything ran perfectly on time.

The venue itself was absolute magic. Nuzzo’s Farm had that cozy, intimate farm vibe we dreamed of—beautiful open space, sweet animals wandering nearby, and the most breathtaking sunset that made for the prettiest photos. There was also a large bridal suite for all of us to get ready in—it was spacious, air-conditioned, spotless, and made the morning of the wedding so comfortable and fun. The atmosphere throughout the entire venue was relaxed but still felt so special, exactly what we wanted for our summer night celebration.

Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how stunning and fun everything was. Between the gorgeous scenery, the warm and welcoming vibe, and the incredible help we received from Audra, I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to say “I do.” If you’re looking for a wedding venue that feels personal, magical, and truly cared for, Audra and Nuzzo’s Farm are everything you could hope for and more.

Now I just need one of my friends to get married here so I can experience it all over again!!!!
