I cannot tell you how happy I am when I shop this adorable, sophisticated extremely unique shop. They have been around for many years and I am happy they are. Customer service is always great and very helpful. As for the comments above not sure what was going on that day but I am always greeted with a smile and asked if there is anything the staff can do to help which I almost always say no because I do not like to be hovered over. When I DO have a question they are right there to answer with intelligence and knowledge of the product. They have a very nice collection of clothing including flax, cut loose, Clara Sun Woo, Habitat and many more . They also have a very nice, small selection of antiques, unusual and magical home decor, soaps, jewelry, scarves, shawls and I am so sure I am forgetting something. On my days off I sometimes take the ride to Stony Creek part of Branford and just allow myself to be enthralled and inspired by this shop. I think anyone who walks into the store feels the same way. Nice work and I am so happy they are there. Did I mention the secret room downstairs? Holy Cow!! you have to exit from the side door, walk through the stone garden path, kinda hang right and walk down a small winding little staircase and open a tall, narrow well patina gray wood door and there lies more coolness. Like the magic garden of my youth!! I hope you enjoy as much as I do every time I find...

I finally was able to and while the store is beautiful with a great array of gorgeous items, I am really disappointed in my purchase. I got two matching bracelets that said “soul sisters” for my best friend and I. They were over $20 each, and on the first day both our wrists turned green. For that price I don’t expect sterling silver but at least some decent material so it doesn’t turn my skin green. Super embarrassing to give as a gift (despite the impeccable wrapping which is why I’m giving 2 stars). Not to mention if you look at the tags pretty much everything is made in China. While the goods look to be of quality, the price...
Read moreMy husband and I have lived in Branford for the past eleven years. During this time we've spent a considerable amount of money at Taken For Granite and have always been happy with the selection and service. This all changed this past Sunday when we walked into "TFG" for some Christmas shopping and were told we needed to wear a mask. We have heeded all our government recommendations; both of us receiving two Covid inoculations plus the booster shots. We will not be victims of "political correctness" and therefore will not shop at Taken For Granite...
