This place can be a bit of an enigma. On the one hand they have pizza that can rival the best that New Haven has to offer. On the other, they only serve that pizza during the summer and for only a few hours a day (5 to 9PM) some days (Thursday through Sunday). The pizza is also very expensive, but as I mentioned, very delicious so it's probably worth it.

Despite living nearby, I have only been a few times because their hours are so difficult to navigate. It is hard to imagine a pizza restaurant that doesn't serve pizza after 9PM on a Saturday night. If they did I would have spent a small fortune on pizza there already. I should add that they are not so draconian with their hours of operation for their other offerings. Just make sure you confirm what times they are open before visiting. Ultimately, if you can manage your expectations this place can be wonderful.

The view from the restaurant is undeniably wonderful. You can clearly see the Stony Creek marina, the Thimble Islands, and the lovely homes that line the bay. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Finally, it is a self-service restaurant with paper plates and plastic silverware. Again, manage your expectations before visiting and you'll have a great time.

They must do very well, but I do wish their service was geared at the local population instead of catering so obviously...

Stony Creek Market is my go to for the best eggs, a delicious sandwich or dare I say my favorite pizza in the New Haven area. All of the food is delicious and there couldn’t be a better atmosphere than sitting on their picnic tables with a view of the Thimble Islands. The icing on the cake is that it is immaculate and their customer service is second to none. The owners (Rob & Kaley) greet everyone as though they are friends and they truly care about the customer experience and making everyone happy. They take immense pride in their work and want to deliver an excellent product every time whether you are getting a coffee and muffin or a large catering order. I recently had them cater the welcome event for my wedding and everyone loved the food. Additionally, leading up to the event they checked on me multiple times to see if I needed anything and to confirm everything was covered. I also included this adorable place on my website and every single out of town guest who visited came back to me raving about their experience there. I never write reviews, I think this is the second one I have ever stopped to write but Stony Creek Market deserves the praise and anyone who visits will be so...

We enjoy Stony Creek Market so much and get there every chance we are in the area.....we live about 70 miles north, but it is where my husband grew up. We stopped yesterday at the Market to find that it was only outdoor dining. Greeted by Valerie, we placed our order, found a table on the porch, chatted with others there for the same reason, and enjoyed the ambience. Our food was brought promptly, considering there were quite a number of diners. My husband's curry chicken pita was delicious, I had some, and I dined on a sesame bagel with lox, cream cheese, onion tomato and lettuce. The best EVER!!! Valerie was scurring around, but found time to wrap 4 of their delicious brownies for us to take home, whil her hubby was inside preparing all the lunches. Amazing couple. Amazing food, amazing experience. Any thim we are in the area, we'll visit and nosh!! Thank you, and may you reopen...

Stopped by alone at this beautiful locale for a quick.bite. No all day breakfast but got a toasted bagel, lox, coffee and a hot cup of vegetable soup. Bagel and coffee were great, soup hot, spicy but a bit off (funny, I would say too hot). Order gal even brought soup and bagel to my table. Great crowd on a gray April Sunday lunchtime. Few issues (besides soup): Only cash (but ATM helps), no public restroom, prices no bargain (but standard premium resort pricing around NYC). No problem returning but with others and a full meal not sure I would try. If a bathroom in the area suggest pointing to place along with "no public restrooms". Most waterfront resort areas have something but unfamiliar here as juat passing through. Worth a visit but probably not a detour.

This place is the best, be there for breakfast or a luncheon sandwich. Rob, Kaley, and staff run a friendly and inviting place. The service is order in or take out, it’s quick and efficient. The view from the outdoor deck is AMAZING over the Stony Creek harbor and waterfront. I love the curry chicken salad plate but also have had their Reuben sandwich. Great salads and vegetarian options like the humus plate. All with delicious whole grain breads. Their homemade baked goods are scrumptious: oatmeal cookies the size of small pancakes or brownies rich and delicious. If you are traveling up 95, it’s south 2 miles from highway at Leetes Island Road exit.
