This was a fun place to bring the family and you can visit the Dewey Short Visitor's Center just south of the Dam to learn about its history. The Dam was built in the 1950s and split the White River into two lakes: the warm-water Table Rock Lake ideal for recreation, and the cooler Lake Taneycomo where rainbow and brown trout are released from the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery.
