Looking Glass Falls — Local services in Brevard

Looking glass falls, like the name. A great magnificent view, the stream bed has rocks but gentle and doesn’t skid.

Note:

Water is Cold. Really really cold. In a hot summer day in July, the water felt like 50’s. My throat got sore and lost my voice for a few mins. That cold.

Road side Parking lot can fit about 25 cars. A few yards down, people had occupied a overturn to a parking lot. Another 10 cars there. That’s it.

The stream is crowded. Go early if you want to beat the crowd.

A flight of about 50 stairs to get down. But very close to the road. You can see the falls from the road and get down in just 5 mins.

No restrooms. Be prepared to use the visitor center few miles before.

You can get to the side under the falls. Saw few folks going around the rocks to get there.

You can’t get under the falls. The water is gushing force. But you can go up to a few yards before the place where it falls down....

Absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorite places to visit in North Carolina. I would like to say that if you are expecting water that is warmer than ice cold then this is not the watering hole for you. The water is Icy but, incredible! We always have a good time walking along the rocks in the shallow or hanging up a hammock and just enjoying the constant breeze off of the falls. I would recommend this fall to anyone who enjoys nature and loves natural wonders, and doesn’t want to hike hours to see it. I love hiking, but the convenience of a waterfall you can park next too is unbeatable. Definitely visit if you are driving through or if you are already going to sliding rock this is a...

What a beautiful view and not that bad of a hype down maybe 75 steps to the bottom you can walk out into the creek under the waterfalls it's definitely a majestic view. The feeling of the waterfall in the air rushing past you it's quite awesome 💯.
