My husband and I recently moved here from St Louis. One of our favorite "finds" here so far is the 77 Flea Market! We've only been here 3 months and so far we've gone 3 times together. I also took my 20 year old daughter when she came to visit and we even loved trying to find a place to park. We were laughing so hard at the controlled craziness of it! But we were also very impressed with how polite everyone was being! We finally got our spot because the man pulling out blocked cars coming from the other direction from stealing it! And when we left, I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely everyone took their turn to exit. :) The vendors are friendly and the fun of treasure hunting on a lazy Saturday or Sunday can't be beat. And the...

Update: Jan 2020. Winter in the RGV. Spend a Saturday morning at the Pulga.

This iconic landmark of Brownsville is a must visit site when in the lower RGV. The "Pulga" has been around for, it seems ever and continues to grow every year. There are ever changing vendors which include food, clothing, tools, music and fresh produce. The spiro papas y tostitas preparadas along with an agua fresca is a must try for all visitors. There is plenty of free parking and of course admission is free. There are several walkways with shelter from the South Texas sun and plenty of rest areas with seating to take a break. There are several bathrooms also. Open only on...

Stopped in a little late. We're looking to replace our front door but the vendors had already left. There were quite a few vendors still considering it was almost 4 and the weather wasn't to bad either. We managed to walk away with our hands full. Found some plants that needed replacing, a pot, and some some stain for our privacy fence. Not a bad visit. Wish we would have brought our cart.
