A Must-Visit Local Treasure – The Village Merchant!
If you're anywhere near the Nantahala area, you absolutely must stop by The Village Merchant! This shop is truly a hidden gem, full of heart, charm, and craftsmanship.
Everything inside is either handmade or American made, and you can feel the love and care in every single item. The shop is owned by the sweetest woman you will ever meet – she personally hand-paints many of the beautiful pieces you’ll find throughout the store. Her talent is only matched by her kindness, and just chatting with her will brighten your entire day.
One of my favorite finds? The handmade soaps, crafted by a local artisan. They smell absolutely heavenly, and the scent lasts long after you've used them – perfect for treating yourself or as a thoughtful gift. There are also adorable tapestries that make the perfect keepsake or present for family and friends.
Shopping here doesn’t just mean finding something beautiful – it means you're directly supporting local artists and small businesses. That sense of community and authenticity is something you won’t find in big-box stores.
Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Village Merchant is more than just a gift shop – it's a place full of warmth, talent, and heart....
