Finding Mike was truly one of the best blessings I’ve had in a long time. I got my first ever mule deer last year and instantly knew I needed to get him mounted to truly honor the animal. I originally was going to get him Euro mounted until a man approached me and mentioned something about getting him shoulder mounted by this gentleman he uses for his animals. I knew nothing about taxidermy and thought since I didn’t have his full cape I had no other choice but to get him Euro mounted so I still went ahead and dropped him off at my local shop to get the euro. I then decide to call Mike and told him about my situation on how I wanted a shoulder mount but didn’t have his full cape. Mike then talked me through his whole process and assured me that I could still do the shoulder mount. So I then went ahead and picked the head back up before the euro was done and delivered him to Mike, he welcomed us with open arms and talked to my dad and I about how long he’s been doing taxidermy and showed us his work which just completely blew me away with the beautiful mounts he’s done in the past. I instantly knew within the first five minutes of meeting him I found the best guy around to work on my animal and hopefully future animals. After seeing him on the wall completed when we arrived to pick him up, my jaw hit the floor with how amazing he looks. My family and I truly can’t thank Mike enough for blessing us with his beautiful work of art he does for people and did for me. I can’t wait to work with you again hopefully in the near future and will be sending everyone I can your way!

Mike's craftsmanship is truly exceptional. The workmanship on our Canadian Goose exceeded all our expectations. His skill is a rare art mastered by only a select few. If you want your game or cherished family pet beautifully preserved for lasting memories, I wholeheartedly recommend Mike. He will provide simple instructions on how to care for your mounted piece, ensuring it stays in good condition for years to come. Having spoken with some taxidermists, I can confidently say that Mike offers a uniquely personable experience. He takes the time to educate you on the process, shares stories from his 40+ years of hunting experience, and creates a welcoming environment. Walking into his workshop, surrounded by his incredible collection of mounts displayed on walls, tables, and floors, was an unforgettable experience. I enjoyed it. Keep in mind that Mike is in high demand, with numerous orders to complete. This isn’t a quick process, so patience is key. Quality takes time, and the result is worth every moment of the wait. As they say, you get what you pay for—and in this case, the final product was worth every penny. If I have another game to mount in the future, I’ll definitely return to Mike. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

As a new hunter, this was my first taxidermy experience and it was great! I called Mike, at Art of the Outdoorsman Taxidermy, late on a Saturday afternoon. He answered and and said it wouldn't be a problem to drop off Saturday or Sunday and recommended that I put the head on ice until I was able to drop it off with him. I coordinated a time via text and dropped off Sunday afternoon at his home-office off the Verrado / I-10 exit in Buckeye. I was given a tour of his shop and front room where his work is on display. Mike is super easy to work with and very personable. I filled out some paperwork, paid in full, and left the head with him. 3 days later I got a text message saying the euro-mount was ready for pick up. We picked it up and was offered some good advice for how to mount the head using wire. I'm no expert but Mike has serious talent for taxidermy and his work is quite impressive. Give Mike a call to discuss your needs and he'll walk you through the process and make your experience super easy, convenient, and affordable. Thanks again Mike, it was a pleasure working with you and I look forward to the next time!
