This drive-in movie theater is a true Chaffee County gem! It adds to the list of fun things we just have to do every time we spend time in the Buena Vista area. The beautiful scenery surrounding this gem makes Commanche the most beautiful setting for a theater in the entire world. The breathtaking Collegiate Peaks give movie-goers something to gaze at and appreciate while waiting for the movie to start. Sure, the building and grounds are vintage and doesn't look like much, but I happen to love it because it takes me back to my childhood in the 70's-80's. How AWESOME this little treat out in the middle of a field in the mountains definitly was. I had not been to a drive in in forever. They were showing Wonder Woman. Not such a great movie to me. I know a lot of people liked it. I'd have to say I was not impressed with it. The drive on the other hand I was very impressed with...The scenery at dusk was gorgeous. WOW! This place was great! It's been a few years since I was at a drive in movie. Brought back a lot of fun memories from my younger days! Bring your kids or bring your parents! A Great time is guaranteed! Staff was nice and the views of the stars were amazing! We watched The Shining, which wouldn't have been my first choice, but it was fun to watch it on the big screen. Concession stand was well stocked and prices on most items very reasonable. So happy to see them making it work.
