Nice people, Dan is good. ----- this was posted before l found out how uggly their real service are. Updated: I have gone there on Thursday (12/27) to do a fuel induction service (above $120), my Lincoln Navigator shakes on uphills when drove home. Parked in garage, the garage was filled with strong chemical smells next day. Open the hood, identified the smell was from the air filter hose. Disconnected the air filter house, poured half gallon of yellow liquid. The air filter was soaked and ruined. Disconnected the MAF hose, found the throttle body was dirty and untouched(cleaning the throttle body is the fuel induction service for). Called the dealer, Dan asked me to send my truck back and they "will have a look", but that would be next Monday (12/31). I thought about how this dealer can make this mess: instead of injecting the cleaning chemical liquid to the throttle body valve, they injected the chemical into my air filter house and the technican there might not know this fuel induction service at all. I don't trust them any more, and am afraid they will damage more parts of my Navigator. So I bought a mortorcraft air filter and throttle body cleaner, MAF cleaner from Advance Auto, did the cleaning myself. I paid them $120 plus tax, did not get the service, and have to buy parts they damaged to install and do the cleaning work myself. I feel that I was screwed up by them, even Dan was a nice people to talk. I admit that I did not do my research to figure out how bad a dealer Star Lake Ford is, and I am a fool to trust people when they talked nice, l learned a hard lesson, hope you looked my review and make a better choice.
Updated: Dan from the dealership contacted me, and we had a good conversation. I want to help them to improve their service so I went to their shop again. I explained what happened and showed the ruined air filter to Dan. They refund my services fee. I feel they want to do business right and that is why Dan follow up with me. I would like to try them another time in the future just because of their good will, hope their technician will do a good...
Read moreOur salesman, Drew, was phenomenal. He definitely puts the "Star" in Star Lake Ford. The service department is a whole different story. We purchased a used Ford Explorer in March and it SUPPOSEDLY went through the Ford Blue Certification, which touts a 139 point inspection and 3 month/4,000 mile warranty. Within the first 3 weeks of owning this car, it was in the service department 4 separate times! The tire pressure sensors all needed replaced, yet they refused to do it because "the TPS light wasn't on when the vehicle was started". Mind you, their courier even told them himself that this occurred while he was driving the vehicle back to their shop. So, I was out $300 having them all repaired. The rear bumper had the paint come off during the first carwash and they did have that repainted. Then, the drain tube in the sun/moon roof was clogged, which they repaired. However, 2 days AFTER the warranty expired, the A/C quit working. Fortunately, I have mechanics at my place of business and they immediately took one look under the vehicle and could see where the green dye had leaked and corroded the rear A/C line. I asked if that was something the service department would have spotted during their "Blue Certification Inspection" and he said absolutely - if they actually did one thoroughly or at all. Apparently, Ford makes a habit of charging the A/C before it goes out the door knowing that by the time the leak is discovered, it would be past the warranty date, which saves THEM from having to eat that cost. So, $600 later I finally have the front line repaired and a block on the rear A/C line (which would have cost me a few thousand dollars to repair). Now, I just paid $150 to repair the passenger side lower control arm bracket (again, one glance from my mechanics told me the problem) and I'm now waiting to have the ball joints and tie rods replaced. This is after I just paid $1,000 to have new tires and an alignment to due uneven tire wear from the lower control arm bracket being absolutely shot. Never again will I purchase a USED vehicle from this...
Read moreWent for a explorer I seen online. It was sold tho, but they showed me a different one I liked even better gave me a good deal, fast service, friendly faces. The sales department was great, now the service department is a different story, 3 months into having this explore I started experiencing a slight pull left so I scheduled service, when I called I explained what was going on and that I need a oil change and I'd like an alignment and tire rotation they told me they would fix the issues, so I drop my car off the night befor the next day they called said it was good, when I got there all they did was change the oil, I drove the car it still pulled left so I took it back, took the mechanic for a ride, he was extremely rude but confirmed to the Manger there was a slight pull I waited they did an alignment right then and when I drove it again the steering wheel was constantly tilted to the left and the car pulled worse so I turned around and took it back they realigned it and told me to call them the next day to let them know if it was still pulling since the work day was over, the next day I called back told them the same issues was happening so we made another appointment the following Monday, when I went to drop the car off the guys in the office were extremely short with me giving me attitude like I'm crazy, a few hours later they called said the lead mechanic drive it and it did not pull at all and they swapped the front tires and the keys will be up at sales, well once again the vehicle still pulls left so I will be calling another Ford garage to get service done because these guys refuse to fix a problem that they confirmed, I will not recommend this business to anyone and even tho the sales department was great ill never buy another vehicle from them because of the...
