I really like this spot in terms of Co Ops because they carry some unique items not found at other locations and they also have a very good soup/hot bar set up. The one thing that just shocks me not only here but at Whole Foods and at other Co Ops is how insanely unhealthy the sushi is. One of the basic rolls had 270 calories and 16 grams of sugar!! That is an absolutely out of control amount of sugar for a sushi roll. I think co ops need to start focusing more on offering healthy food that’s actually healthy. Not dousing seemingly healthy foods with comical amounts of sugar and inflammatory seed oils. Having said that, Apart from some of the products they carry this place is a fantastic staple for the neighborhood as you’re starting to get outside the big cities and into the food deserts that plague rural America. One update is that they use BPA free receipts which is a huge plus! That’s hard to find these days

We go to many different co-ops, but given the proximity to our home, Valley Foods is a favorite. Not only for the short drive, of course. It excells in the variety of well curated options for healthy yummy food. We find all that we need for the week there. Fruits, veggies, freshly made food at the deli and multiple options of the packaged foods. Their wellness area is also very diverse in offerings, which is a treat. The final touch for our favoritism to this store is the staff. They are always so friendly and helpful. They keep the store well stocked, clean and organized.

I have been on that road hundreds of times but never been there. Today it happened to go there because my son was asking for a snack. There are different types of products, which I just loved to see and lot of international spices. There is also fresh produce and natural body products. I got some wild rice soup.mix and the smell itself was amazing. I just love this shop. I have tried to buy wheat grain in many places but I couldn't find it,but here I found two varities and IAM so happy with that.

It sucks that this is the only coop near by. This store is just trash now, and has been for a while. If you go after 6pm on any given night, they are already taking down their hot bars. So when I go at 7:30. I'm expecting them to already be down. But then you stand there to get service and the 4 different people that you see, "all doing something MORE IMPORTANT" don't help you. The one guy that did acknowledge me says "Someone will be with you shortly. we're all doing closing something down." Then he procedes to wipe his soup bar. So I stood there a few more moments and was like. whatever, decided to leave. You get up front. and the customer service person, is on her phone. The cashier is on her phone. I was about to just take what i was buying, and not ring it up, but I didn't. I understand that the grocery business is a 1% business and hard to make good profits. I go in this store multiple times / week and have for years. But honestly it pisses me off everytime i do. Should just start shopping elsewhere.. Watch your camera footage on 9/15/2025 at 7:45pm at deli, for a reall shitty time.

Oh and since, im in the mood. Many years ago, i was going to get a membership there.. In there defense, it was 8:45pm at night, so they were ready to go home soon, but I asked how big of a deal is it to get a membership right now." and their answer was "right now? It's a big deal." lol. Are you kidding me.? You fill out a form. its take about a minute, and give them $100.

Now i have a Lakewinds membership but don't get to use it because I don't live by one. Like i said, i shop here multiple times / week. I like some of the workers. I talk to a few of the meat guys once in a while, and they are always good stuff. But it's a terrible experience every time i go in there after 6pm. for years now. just had it tonight. I spend thousands of dollars a year here for the last decade, and they can't stay off their phones. What a joke. And the deli... every time. Put a bell up to ring. Or teach your people to help the customers.

The thought of having to go to lunds and byerlys sucks, and Kowalski's or lakewinds isnt near by. ugh. Disgruntled customer. Might stop showing up. srsly....

Mary, I share the same concerns. We've been members for over 10 years. I was willing to deal with all of the new changes, but I haven't enjoyed my shopping experience here since they expanded the store and brought in nearly an entire new staff. The meat guy with the glasses is not helpful at all with assistance or questions - I don't even feel comfortable with him behind the counter handling any meat products. The layout of store is awkward, the lighting is harsh, and ordering anything from the wellness department is pointless, because they either don't order it or they never call you to let you know it is not available.

There are other irks I have, but yesterday will likely mark my last day shopping there. When I approached the check-out to pay, the cashier stepped way back from register as I placed my items on the conveyer (she was already behind the plexiglass.) She then told me to stand back from the plexiglass. We were both wearing masks, btw. When I had to step to the side to put my credit card in the machine, she again dramatically stepped way back. Then, she waited for me to bag my own groceries because she apparently didn't want to come any closer to her customers. It was overly-dramatic and ridiculous behavior, and downright rude and dehumanizing. I stood there and waited for her to bag my groceries because I figured that if she was going to be so offensive and overly fearful of even having me in her lane, I wouldn't come any closer. Funny thing is, she didn't even disinfect the conveyer or anything with spray or wipes before moving on to the person behind me, which one would think she would do after displaying so much panic.

Ugh, I'll go to Target or Byerlys from now on where they still treat their...

An absolutely awful experience here.

I'd never been here before, and stopped in for some mushrooms and coffee, as I heard it was a good place for both. I get my coffee grounds and see both a sticker and pen. There are no instructions anywhere to be found. I write down the price AND weight of my coffee. 1.58 lbs at $12.99. This is the following conversation I had with the cashier after she asked if I was a member of the store. I do not remember her name, but she was an older woman with messy white hair.

Cashier: I can't ring this up. Me: Oh? Why not? C: There's no PLU. What am I supposed to enter into the register? Me: There was no instruction by the machines, I'm sorry I don't know what the PLU is. I provided both the weight and price if that helps. C: Well I don't know what I'm supposed to do with this.

She pokes around on the computer, sighs and asks me to show her which coffee I got. She then proceeds to walk me over to the coffee grinders to have me read her the PLU. I suggested that they should put up some kind of sign to inform people. This whole time she is acting very annoyed and unprofessional, and eventually says "You should know how to mark your coffee if you're going to shop bulk," as she's walking away! Why do you have to be so upset that a new customer needs assistance? I've never experienced a more hostile, unwelcoming, unhelpful, and unpleasant cashier than this woman. Awful....
