When we left Visalia, CA we come through this pass and junction called the Cajon Pass. It seem to be a road or highway that cut through a long scenic valley. It looks like it connects north and south California together. When I went on this scenic route it was raining and was very cloudy. Some clouds were very low and we're hugging the mountains and hills. The rain and clouds made this road even more pretty than it already is. Train and photo wise, this has got to be one of the best places in the country. All across the pass there are many different and unique photo opportunities, although lighting sometimes can be an issue, and there are plenty of trains to shoot. However, the traffic is absolutely horrible. So much so that in the middle of the day I had to take backroads so as not to get stuck in Westbound traffic, and that road was also clogged by people, doing the same thing. Read moreGoogle maps stated it would take me 1 hour and 30min to get from Victorville, CA to EastVale, CA. I spent 2 hours sitting in traffic on the 15 freeway and only got to the 138 exit. Normally, I can get to the 138 exit in the Cajon Pass in 15 to 20 min.
I checked California Dot webpage for up to date freeway information. There are multiple stand still points through out the 15 freeway through the Cajon Pass.
