Santa Fe & Salt Lake Trail Monument — Attraction in California

Always nice to read the monument and take pictures of the area and the PCT. I always imagine what it was like to travel back in the 1800's without a well defined road and CARS. I can't see how wagons could handle all the ups and downs of this range on their way to the coast. Beautiful views of the mountains and desert. This monument is located at a PCT trailhead. It's a good starting point for a short or long hike into the surrounding mountains and doesn't take that long of a walk before the freeway noise is gone.
