My mom, my brother, my brother-in-law, and I signed up for the Jewelry Making Class through Smuggler’s Notch and we all enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Silvio, the instructor, was so friendly and knowledgeable about the art and craft of creating your own jewelry. For this class, we each created our own set of three stackable rings—one of silver, one of copper, and one of brass. He patiently walked us through each of the steps required to create our rings. My partner and I did the stacking rings workshop and had a great time! I returned a couple weeks later to learn how to create a bezel and mount a stone into a ring. I had picked up a rough labradorite stone at a shop in Burlington, and Silvio walked me through cutting the stone, polishing it, creating the bezel, mounting the stone, and creating the ring all in about 4.5 hours. We booked as a family for the jewelry making class through Smuggler’s Notch resort and Silvio’s class was one of the highlights of the trip for everyone. It was as engaging for the 9 year old as it was for the 16 year old! And we have beautiful mementos to keep from our trip.
